Chewy, soft and full of peanut butter goodness, These Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars are the perfect treat to curb your sweet tooth, 100% easy and tasty.
Reese’s is one of those candies that are highly requested in this household. There is something about peanut butter and chocolate in a dessert that goes well together.
My husband is 100% addicted to all things Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and that includes my Reese’s Overload Bars, Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake Bars and my Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cake!
So these bars are nothing short of the peanut butter and chocolate goodness that we all know and love. We make these all the time since they’re so simple and they never last long.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- With readily available ingredients this recipe is super simple to whip up and easier to make disappear.
- This recipe can easily be doubled for those who absolutely love bars, and they are perfect to take to events.
- No special equipment needed to whip these bars up, just a stand or hand mixer, bowls and a whisk!
So let’s talk about these Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars, they are soft, chewy, filled with peanut butter, Reese’s Pieces and Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Now Reese’s came up with GENIUS idea to make a Reese’s Pieces and Mini Peanut Butter Cup mix, just like you would with chocolate chips!
While we used one cup of each of the cups and pieces, you could absolutely buy this if you didn’t want to make two separate purchase and just use the whole bag!
Some of our other favorite “Peanut Butter Cup” desserts include: Peanut Butter Stuffed Brownies, Peanut Butter Cup No Bake Cheesecake and this No Bake Peanut Butter Icebox Cake!

Although it may seem like there is a lot of steps to this recipe, based on the photos above it is SUPER simple, and thats the way we like to keep it around here.
These Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars are one of those baking recipes that you want to bring to all the things. We regularly bring them to sporting events, parties and bake sales, and we never have any left.
WHAT TYPE OF PEANUT BUTTER TO USE?
While for this Peanut Butter Bar recipe we used the actual Reese’s brand peanut butter, and creamy peanut butter brand would work.
You could also add chunky peanut butter if you want to give it a little extra crunch to each and every bite! It would be a great substitution.
HOW TO STORE PEANUT BUTTER BARS:
These bars can be stored covered or in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3 days. You can also refrigerate them and they should keep for about a week.
If you would like to freeze these peanut butter bars, I would recommend cutting each bar and wrapping in plastic wrap and then a layer of tinfoil and place in an airtight container or bag, these should keep for about 3 months.
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR MAKING REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER BARS:
- To truly get that Reese’s flavor, use the Reese’s brand peanut butter, but if you cannot find that any creamy peanut butter will work.
- You can also switch it up and use crunchy peanut butter for a little added texture.
- If you don’t want to buy Reese’s Minis and Pieces separately, check out the post above to show a link of Reese’s new combined bag for baking.
- Let these cool completely before cutting, there is a lot of melty chocolate in the center, they are gooey to start with so cooling helps with the cutting and the bars holding together.
- If you want a richer bar, use all brown sugar instead of a mixture of brown sugar and granulated sugar.
If you want that favorite bar that people will love these Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars are a fun go-to recipe that has always been a hit when we have made them!
