Want a versatile recipe that goes great on burgers, steaks or a stand alone? These Garlic Butter Grilled Mushrooms are the perfect addition to your meal, and super addicting.
Grilling is an essential part of summer. Whether itโs burgers, chicken, steak or veggies it is just one of those delicious things you do.
Once the snow melts, we whip out our grill and go to town around here. Now we do have a smokeless indoor grill that we use because we do like to grill all year round but summertime is the big kicker.
These Grilled Mushrooms are so easy, flavorful and hassle-free that they are usually one of our staple sides when we fire it up.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- The flavors of garlic and butter go well with pretty much anything, these mushrooms especially.
- This is a fix it and forget it recipe, fire up your grill and let it do the cooking for you, super simple and only one turn is all it takes.
- This recipe takes minimal ingredients and can also be adapted for the oven so super safe for those rainy days.
Do you want to know how effortless this recipe really is? Here let me show you!
HOW TO MAKE GRILLED MUSHROOMS, STEP BY STEP:
Pre-heat your grill to 350.
Slice your mushrooms in halves or thirds depending on how large they are and place into a large bowl. In another bowl add your butter, garlic, salt, pepper, garlic salt and parsley and whisk to combine (Photos 1-3).
Pour your butter mixture over your mushrooms and toss to coat (Photos 4 & 5).
Next lay out a large sheet of heavy duty tin foil and add your mushrooms to the center. Fold the longer side together and roll down to seal. Roll up your edges to seal both ends so itโs nice and tight where juices wonโt drip out (Photos 6 & 7).
Place on grill for 15 minutes and then flip and cook for about 10-15 minutes longer.
Remove from grill and let sit a few minutes before opening. Serve in tinfoil or transfer to a bowl.
Now we like ours super garlicky. I know a lot of people donโt like the taste of garlic, but we like to sprinkle a little more garlic salt over the top of our mushrooms before serving.
Some of the flavor can get lost in the juices while it cooks, so we always add just a tad bit more to bring all those flavors back together.
How simple is that? I told you this recipe is foolproof!
Some of our other favorite grilling dishes to serve these with include Chimichurri Steak, Caprese Grilled Filet Mignon and these Grilled Chicken Thighs!
HOW TO GRILL MUSHROOMS IN OVEN:
If you are wondering how you can make this grilled mushroom recipe in the oven either since you don’t own a grill, it’s raining or just because let me tell you how.
Repeat all the same steps as above, preheating your oven to 350. Place your foil pack on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, turn and then continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes.
It’s pretty much the same thing, but in an oven so this recipe is super versatile, you can also saute on stove over medium high heat until mushrooms are tender and juicy.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- We like to use white button mushrooms for this recipe, you can use baby Bellas or whatever mushrooms your grocer has on hand.
- If you want smaller slices, just slice your mushrooms thinner or buy the pre-sliced mushrooms from the store.
- We add garlic salt after grilling to make it a little extra garlicky as sometimes the initial flavor soaks off in the juices.
- These can be baked in the oven as stated above, 350 for 15 minutes turning then cooking an additional 10-15 minutes.
If this Grilled Mushroom recipe wasn’t an easy summer grilling side dish that goes with all the things, then I don’t know what is! Add this to your menu and you won’t be sorry!
