Sweet and spicy, these Quick and Easy Little Smokies are the perfect appetizer. Done in under 30 minutes, minimal ingredients and amazing flavor.
Little Smokies are one of my favorite appetizer recipes ever. They are one of those recipes that everyone seems to love and that disappear quicker than anything else.
Let’s face it I’m an appetizer person, some of my favorite ones that we make all the time include these Italian Pinwheels, Sausage Rolls and Asian Crockpot Meatballs.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- Minimal ingredients makes this quick and simple without the effort.
- This is made in a pan on the stove, so it cuts the time greatly compared to a lot of other little smokies recipes.
- The flavor is a sweet and spicy mixture that you will fall in love with.
The orange marmalade in theseLittle Smokies really give it a sweetness that is hard to ignore, it’s not overly potent because mixed with the other flavors really gives it a nice balance.
Now I’m a real “sweet heat” person, where I like the two flavors mixed together, just like in this Sweet Heat Chili and these Sweet and Spicy Boneless Wings.
So it really makes me love this recipe to the max.
HOW TO MAKE LITTLE SMOKIES, STEP BY STEP:

- Bring mixer to a boil and simmer for about 5 or so minutes to get the flavors to marry a little.

See how simple this recipe is? I mean come on! Easy and simple is really how I like to keep it around here because who has time for hard and complicated all the time.
CAN I MAKE THESE IN THE SLOW COOKER?
Yes! If you would rather make these in the slow cooker you can place all your ingredients in there and heat on low 2-3 hours or high 1-2 hours, stirring often to make sure that the sauce combines.
CAN I DOUBLE THIS RECIPE?
Absolutely yes, this is a smaller batch recipe that will serve a small crowd especially if you have a lot of other appetizers.
If you want to double it, the cooking time and everything will remain the same so no more effort if you are craving more.

Depending on where you are from they are called little smokies, little weenies, cocktail wieners, etc.
Essentially little smokies are a smoked sausage that can come in different meat forms such as beef or pork. They come precooked and are easy to prepare.
They can be slow cooked, simmered, microwaved or even pan fried. They are one of those appetizers that are super simple to whip up with multiple methods.
