HOW TO MAKE ASIAN CROCKPOT MEATBALLS, STEP BY STEP:
In 6 quart crockpot add your frozen meatballs. In small bowl whisk together all of your sauce ingredients until combined (Photos 1 & 2).
Pour your sauce over your meatballs and give it a good stir to coat all of the meatballs as well as you can, cover and cook (Photos 3 & 4).
Once finished cooking give it a good stir again to recover in sauce, remove to plate (if desired) and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions (Photos 5 & 6).

HOW LONG TO COOK FROZEN MEATBALLS IN CROCKPOT:
For this Crockpot Meatball recipe we cook our meatballs on high for 1-2 hours. You can also cook on low for 3-4 hours as well, it all depends on the timeframe that you want these done.
HOW LONG TO COOK HOMEMADE MEATBALLS IN CROCKPOT:
Now you don’t technically need to cook your meatballs before placing in your crockpot, you can shape them and cook on high for 3-4 hours.
If you do decide to cook your meatballs before placing in crockpot then again cook on high 1-2 hour or low 3-4.
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR MAKING ASIAN CROCKPOT MEATBALLS:
- If using frozen meatballs, use the homestyle and not any Italian versions, this helps keep the Asian flavor and not adding any additional spices.
- You can easily double this recipe, I would recommend using an 8 quart crockpot if you were going to do that.
- Stir meatballs throughout cooking to redistribute the sauce evenly.
- Turkey meatballs also work well in this recipe so you can always substitute that!
If you are wanting that perfectly fun, different and flavorful appetizer for your next party then you have to whip up these Asian Crockpot Meatballs!

Can you use an instant pot instead?!
Tornadough Alli
I have not tested these in the instant pot unfortunately.

It was SO good !!

With 1 lb of hamburger and 1 lb of sausage, weighed each ball out at 1.5 oz, ended up with 24 meatballs.
For a filler I used 14 g of pork rinds, crushed, but you can use bread crumbs also..
Dave
For those doing homemade meatballs, weigh out 1 1/2 (1.5) oz per meatball. 2 lbs will make around 22 balls. Bake in oven at 350° to 400° for 15 to 20 min.
You can also use 1 lb of hamburger and 1 lb of turkey or sausage.

Could fresh ginger be added to spice these up? If so, how much would you suggest?
Tornadough Alli
Absolutely!

Can you put the sesame seeds in the sauce and cook with the meatballs? I love the flavor of sesame.
Tornadough Alli
That shouldn’t be an issue at all 🙂

Love this recipe! This is my second time making it.
I used a pre-prepared hoisin sauce this time and I don’t like the flavour as much as the one from this recipe (I was lazy last week and didn’t want to go to the store to get the pre-prepared, so I made my own instead)

Thanks for sharing this one. It’ll be a go-to for me!

If using fresh meatballs should they be baked prior to putting in the crockpot?
Tornadough Alli
Yes I would bake before hand.

I could only find “Italian style meatballs” at the grocery store. Will that work?
Tornadough Alli
Those should work just fine 🙂
Mary
Is the cook time for fresh or frozen meatballs?
Tornadough Alli
