HOW TO GRILL BACON WRAPPED JALAPEรO POPPERS:
If you are in the grilling mood and want to grill these bad boys, the steps are simple. Just make as directed through the steps of wrapping your jalapeรฑos in bacon.
Then refrigerate your jalapeรฑo poppers for about 30-45 minutes, this helps the filling not ooze out. Preheat your grill to medium (350 degrees F) heat and place cut side down and grill for about 6-8 minutes until bacon starts to crisp up.
Flip your poppers over and grill an additional 15 minutes to crisp the other side of the bacon and finish melting the insides of the jalapeรฑo poppers.
HOW TO AIR FRY BACON WRAPPED JALAPEรO POPPERS:
If you got a new toy for Christmas and want to try it out, the air fryer is a great way to make these bad boys. When we do them in the air fryer we do them in batches.
Add about 6-7 of your jalapeรฑo poppers to your air fryer basket and cook at 375 degree F for about 13-15 minutes until bacon is crisp.
Keep doing this until all poppers are crispy.
Did you know that this is actually a really healthy appetizer recipe? This is one of our go-to healthier appetizers that we have, and who would have thought that.
Since it’s one of our favorites we never really feel guilty about consuming allllll the poppers, like ever. And these bake a big batch as well.
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR MAKING BACON WRAPPED JALAPEรO POPPERS:
- We used larger jalapeรฑos about 3-4 inches in length, so the filling amount fit 10 whole jalapeรฑos perfectly, if you are using smaller jalapeรฑos then either use more or make half the filling.
- One thing we do to make the bacon go farther is stretch it slightly before wrapping around the jalapeรฑo itself.
- Use thinner cut bacon, do not use thick cut, you can but if you do, you will need to add extra cooking time to make sure the bacon is fully cooked.
- You can cook and crumble bacon and add it to the filling mixture instead of wrapping the bacon around the outside.

We have made these exact peppers for years now. Games, holidays, or any day that ends in y. Sometimes even stretching the bacon isn’t enough and it will shrink up and be delicious but not as pretty. We cured this by cutting the bacon in half lengthwise, this way it gets completely wrapped and always turns out beautiful. We skip the salt and go with cayenne pepper in our cream cheese. It’s playoff Saturday and we have 10 dozen of these laid out on trays ready to cook. Made them last night and now today is a cinch.
