WHAT IS THE BEST TYPE OF CHEESE TO USE?
We us a mixture of provolone and sharp cheddar cheese to get a nice balance of flavor and creaminess.
You can choose whatever cheese you do like for this recipe, mild cheddar, monterey jack, colby jack, etc.
If you are using a shredded cheese, make sure you freshly shed it as it is easier to melt.
WHAT KIND OF BREAD WORKS BEST?
Any sandwich bread will work for this recipe, we use sourdough for this. We like a sturdier bread when we make a grilled cheese sandwich.
Some others that you can use are texas toast, country, french and italian.
CAN I USE ROTISSERIE CHICKEN FOR THIS SANDWICH?
Absolutely! You can use any chicken that you have, leftover chicken, rotisserie, thick deli etc.
We just like to shred the chicken or you can use pieces of the chicken too, you just do not want to use a whole slice of chicken.
WHAT CAN I SERVE THIS CHICKEN BACON RANCH GRILLED CHEESE WITH?
While this is filling on it’s own, if you want to pair a side with it you absolutely can. Some of my favorites include:
- Chips
- Side Salad
- Soup
- French Fries
- Potato Salad
HOW TO STORE:
While this is best eaten with it is first made, you can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator where it will keep for up to 3 days.
To reheat, place in a pan on the stove until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
We do not recommend freezing this recipe.
