DO I HAVE TO USE THE CHIA SEEDS?
While these do not have much taste to them, they are a superfood and we love adding them where we can.
If you are not a fan of chia seeds or simply do not want to use them, you can absolutely leave them out.
HOW LONG DO THESE OVERNIGHT OATS NEED TO SIT?
While they are self explanatory meaning overnight roughly 8 hours, you can get by letting these sit for 4 hours as the least.
If you want them to be more tender, then longer they sit the better.
CAN I ADD ANY OTHER MIX-INS?
Yes, if you want to add a little more substance to your Strawberry Overnight Oats, some ideas that you can try include:
- Mini chocolate chips
- Chopped Nuts
- Diced Bananas
- Diced Straberries
CAN I USE QUICK OATS FOR THIS?
No, do not use quick oats for this recipe. They are a smaller cut and will get mushy when they sit in the milk for too long.
Old Fashioned Oats are the best oats to use when you are making Overnight Oats. So please make sure you are using them.
HOW TO STORE:
These will keep in the refrigerator in an airtight container where they will keep for up to 5 days. They will keep getting softer the longer they sit.
Do not store them assembled, make sure that they are separate and only assemble when you are ready to consume them.
We do NOT recommend freezing this recipe.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Make sure that you are using old fashioned oats.
- You can double this recipe to make a bigger batch.
