This Pumpkin Pie Spice is a fall pantry staple, with only 5 ingredients and a few minutes to whip you have a the perfect baking addition.
Fall baking is one of my favorite things ever, more-so when it comes to pumpkin. This Pumpkin Pie Spice is one of my favorite spices to whip up this time of year.
We make a lot of desserts using pumpkin, so this Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe is something that we have in our pantry all the time.
Some of my favorite pumpkin deserts we use this spice in include Pumpkin Bread Pudding, Slow Cooker Pumpkin Hot Chocolate and Pumpkin Cheesecake!
This is such an easy recipe and one that I think you should have in your pantry this time of year!
Why spend the money on a spice blend from the store when it is easy to make yourself? I mean seriously!
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- With only 5 ingredients which you most likely have on hand it’s super easy to whip up!.
- It takes only minutes to mix together and right into storage.
- It lasts for a long period of time and goes perfect in anything that you want flavored pumpkin.
Pumpkin Pie Spice is one thing that we go through like no other, I’m kind of obsessed with anything and all things pumpkin so, we make a few batches of this a season.
There is so many different recipes that use this spice that it is one that you can never go wrong with having in your pantry.
HOW TO MAKE APPLE PIE SPICE, STEP BY STEP:
- Gather your ingredients, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger and cloves.
- In a small bowl, mix all ingredients together with a small whisk until they are blended well.
- Place in an airtight container and store until ready to use.
You can’t tell me that this is not super easy to whip up! Because it is, and it doesn’t pay to pay money to go get a bottle from the store!
HOW TO STORE:
Stored properly which would mean in an airtight container such as a mason jar, or lidded bottle this Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe will keep for about 1-2 years just like a lot of spices.
This is one reason why we love it so much! When you are able to make you own spice blends they last for quite a while.
We make our own every so often sweet and savory, some include BBQ rub, Ranch Mix, Taco Seasoning and Apple Pie Spice..
You can get the smallest sized canning jars and seal those and use them to store this Pumpkin Pie Spice in or you can use an old spice container and use that as well.
Both we have done and both work just as well as the next.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Make sure that this recipe is stored in an airtight container in my preference out of sunlight like in a cabinet or other place.
- You can refrigerate this if you like, but there is really no evidence that it will extend it’s life any.
- This makes about 6 Tbs which you can easily double if you are a big baker like me.
- You can adjust the ingredients to your liking, this is just our favorite blend that we have come up with over the years.
- This goes perfect in all pumpkin desserts, used as sprinkling on hot chocolate or whipped cream, etc.
