If you want a quick and easy refreshing summer drink that has 5 ingredients and is ready in 5 minutes this Mango Margarita is the one that you absolutely need.
Mangos are one fruit that I really like. I have always been a fan and I always love when they are in season because we eat them up in this household like desserts.
I like them in drinks even more! I love mango flavored drinks, there is just something so refreshing and summery about the mango flavor that we cant resist.
This Mango Margarita recipe is super simple and easy to whip up that we make them all the time, we make them virgin and with alcohol because not everyone drinks so we like to give options.
Some of our other favorite Margaritas that we have on the site include Strawberry Margaritas and Pineapple Margaritas, both are super delicious and refreshing.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- This recipe includes 4 main ingredients with one being optional.
- It is super simple to whip up and you can make it in under 5 minutes.
- You can double or triple the batch to serve a larger crowd if needed.
Drinks are something that we love to make during the summer and they really vary, fruity, frozen, you name it we like to make it, nothing can stop us when it comes to a refreshing drink recipe!
HOW TO MAKE A MANGO MARGARITA, STEP BY STEP:
- In blender add your frozen mango and tequila.
- Next add in your triple sec.
- Add in your lime juice
- Lastly adding your sugar (if using) and blend until smooth.
- Grab a glass and line the rim with a lime coating it well.
- Place flaked sea salt on plate and roll your glass top into the salt to coat the rim then till with Pineapple Margarita mixture.
Honestly, I don’t think you can get much simpler than this Margarita recipe. It is sooooo simple to whip up and the best part is that you can use frozen fruit.
We love to keep all sorts of frozen fruits and this is the recipe we use for all our margarita recipes so the fruit can easily be swapped out for others like blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, peach, etc.
Any flavor that you think would work well with a margarita, you can make with this, even a berry blend would be an amazing flavor for this drink.
But like I said, I’m a mango fan and I love me a good Mango Margarita! We can’t deny that.
This Mango Margarita makes 2 standard glasses like the ones shown in the photos, about 3-4 cups worth of mixture.
So you can easily double or triple this depending on how many people you are looking to serving, which we do a lot because we have a lot of friends who love margaritas.
We also love using flaked sea salt for the rims of these glasses because it not only makes them look pretty, it really coats them well and we love that salty taste with this recipe.
You don’t have to line your rim with lime, you can also use honey, it helps the salt stick better as well, which we have used at times when we did not have limes on hand, or leftover.
HOW DO I MAKE THIS VIRGIN?
If you aren’t a drinker or you want to make this kid friendly you can easily do that. This Mango Margarita is super easy to turn virgin!
To do so you still use the frozen mangos, instead of triple sec use 1/2 cup of orange juice, then you use the same amount of lime juice and sugar.
Easy peasy, and it just tastes a little more fruitier! Which is never a bad thing because who doesn’t love a fruity dink like this?
CAN THIS BE FROZEN?
Absolutely, this Mango Margarita recipe may not freeze fully and you will end up with more of a slush since some alcohols do not freeze.
Make as per instructions then place in a airtight container like a ziploc bag or Tupperware container and you can store it I would say 1-2 months.
To reuse, just pour your mixture back into blender and re-blend until everything is smooth and to your consistency that you like and pour into your glasses.
We like to freeze some our of margaritas for later use because it’s nice to just have it on hand at times when we get the urge for a refreshing drink, so it’s something to think about for sure.
You won’t need to blend it much since this Mango Margarita is pretty much frozen anyways since you use frozen fruit, but make sure that you do get it to the consistency that you like.
I hope you get the chance to make this amazing drink this summer (or anytime that the craving hits). It is such a simple recipe and if you have the ingredients on hand, I say why not!
It’s fruity, with a touch of alcohol which you can adjust to your liking – some like it stronger and some like it a little less strong and that’s ok. It’s all in personal preference.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- You can make this recipe with or without alcohol, read above notes on how to make it virgin.
- If you want a less frozen version, use fresh fruit or let your pineapple thaw slightly before blending.
- I recommend using a good blender to make this as it will be easier, but you can also use a food processor in a pinch, we have before and it also works just takes a little more time.
- We like to line our glasses with large flaked salt, we use THIS brand. You can also line with sugar, regular sea salt, or regular salt if you would like.
- You can switch up this recipe with multiple different fruits like strawberries, peaches, pineapple, berries, etc.
- This recipe freezes really well so you are able to enjoy for later drinking, also read notes above on how to freeze.
