Super simple, tasty and great to cool down on a warm day, these Strawberry Margaritas are packed full of flavor and can be made alcoholic or non-alcholic for the drinkers and non drinkers in your life.
Strawberry Margaritas are always a great spring and summer hit. Now it doesn’t have to be spring and summer to enjoy on of these cool beverages, we enjoy then all year long. Especially when we go strawberry picking in the summer and freeze all the ones we picked for later use!
This Strawberry Margarita recipe is made in less than 5 minutes with just a few ingredients and will really perk you up. Punched with lime, strawberry and orange flavors this is one recipe you will want to have on hand.
If you are a fan of frozen drinks you might also enjoy my Rhubarb Slush and Frozen Berry Slushies as well!
We don’t drink much around this house, usually we will whip up some cocktails for guests but most of the stuff we drink is of the virgin variety, so I decided to give you a versatile drink recipe that can be made non-alcoholic or the classic way!
What ingredients do you need to make these margaritas?
VIRGIN STRAWBERRY MARGARITA:
- Frozen strawberries
- Orange juce
- Lime juice
- Sugar
- Salt
REGULAR STRAWBERRY MARGARITA:
- Frozen strawberries
- Tequila
- Triple sec
- Lime juice
- Salt
We like to use frozen strawberries rather than fresh with ice because it seems to produce the texture we like in our Strawberry Margarita recipes and have always just kinda, sorta stuck to that.
But these are always a hit when we have guests over, they are quick to whip up and we usually have pounds of strawberries every year.
HOW TO MAKE VIRGIN STRAWBERRY MARGARITAS:
- In blender add your frozen strawberries, orange juice, lime juice and sugar and blend until smooth.
- Pour salt onto plate and line the rim of your glasses with a lime slice and dip into salt.
- Spoon or pour your margaritas into glasses and serve with a slice of lime if desired.
Simple right?
HOW TO MAKE ALCOHOLIC STRAWBERRY MARGARITAS:
- Repeat the steps as you would for the virgin recipe replacing the orange juice with triple sec, add in your tequila and then lime juice and process until blended.
- Line your glasses with lime juice and dunk into salt and pour/spoon your margaritas into glass.
- When we have gatherings of people this is the main way we make our margarita recipes. But we also make a batch for our non-drinking friends.
TIPS AND TIRCKS FOR MAKING STRAWBERRY MARGARITAS:
- Use frozen strawberries, you can buy these in the freezer section of your local grocer or go pick some strawberries at a local strawberry farm and trim them and freeze them, we think they taste better.
- Your alcoholic version margaritas will be a little less thick since you will be adding more liquid in the recipe but still will be considered frozen.
- Use your favorite tequila and instead of triple sec you can use any orange liquor or even sub for orange juice if you have nothing else for the alcoholic version.
- Use a higher powered blender, but if you do not own a blender you can use a food processor, but it will take little longer to blend.
- This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled depending on how many people you are serving.
