I’m a lemon fiend over here. I always have been, and I probably always will be. Lemon is just one of those flavors that I have always loved and can’t kick any time of the year.
Some of my favorite lemon desserts that we have here are Lemon Layer Cake, Lemon Baked Donuts and one of my all time favorites Lemon Ricotta Cake.

If you know anything about me by not, it’s that I loooooove easy recipes. Like they are the kind of thing that we do around here, so if you wan’t complicated it’s not here.
Unless you look at some of my layer cakes, they can be complicated, but I do try to make them as easy to follow as possible for you guys.
These Glazed Lemon Biscuit Knots are such an easy recipe and it is one of those recipes that my family really enjoys.
You can really make them in any flavor if you switch up the lemon in the glaze, but why would you want to? Lemon is literally the best, IMHO.
HOW TO MAKE GLAZED LEMON BISCUIT KNOTS:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix sugar and 2 tsp of lemon zest together in a small bowl.
- Cut each biscuit in half. Roll each biscuit into a rope. Tie each rope in a loose knot. Tuck the ends underneath the knot. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Brush tops of knots with melted butter. Dip buttered tops in lemon sugar mixture.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly golden.
- While knots are baking, make your glaze by mixing powdered sugar and lemon juice together.
- Remove knots from oven and let sit a few minutes, while knots are still warm, drizzle them with lemon glaze.
- Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.
How easy is this recipe? For real though, it is one of our favorite breakfast recipe that the kids request all the time. Since it has little to no ingredients I’m always happy to make them.
WHAT TYPE OF BISCUITS SHOULD I USE?
This will work with any kind of biscuits as long as it is a 16 oz package. We usually use buttermilk, but also have used flaky layers, butter, etc.
You can use the smaller package of biscuits as well the junior type but those you will not need to cut in half and you would use the whole biscuit plus another container for this recipe.
If you want to make your own homemade biscuit dough you could possibly do that, I have not tried it because I like simplicity but if you have, please let me know how it went!
These Glazed Lemon Biscuit Knots are not only simple they are addicting, once you pop one you just can’t stop. But maybe it’s just me and my love for lemon, but I’m hoping you feel the same way.
HOW TO STORE:
You can keep these stored on the countertop in an airtight container for about 3-4 days. You can also store them in the refrigerator for about 1 week.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- You can use fresh or bottled lemon juice in your glaze.
- You can add some extra lemon zest to your glaze for some added lemon flavor.
- If you want a stronger lemon sugar flavor let lemon zest sit in sugar overnight to infuse.
- You can use pretty much any type of biscuit you would like for this recipe, read above regarding my recommendations.
- We like to drizzle these with the glaze when they are still slightly warm, you can also dip them in the glaze to get more coverage.
- Let cool slightly before serving so the glaze has time to set up.
I’m not going to say it again, these Glazed Lemon Biscuit Knots are one of our favorite recipes that can really be eaten at any time of day.
I’m not one to tell a person when they can have their sweets because I’m one of the ones that will run to the cabinet in the middle of the night and grab me a Little Debbie Snack.
