WHAT OTHER CUT OF MEAT CAN I USE?
I prefer using flank steak. But sometimes, the grocery store is out, so check out the other cuts of beef. The next best cut to try would be a skirt steak and if you can’t find any of that, try sirloin steak instead.
WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD IN?
This Easy Beef Stir Fry is already packed with veggies, but if you’re a vegetable lover and you’re looking for more to add in, try:
- Baby corn
- Zucchini
- Mushrooms
- Bean sprouts
- Celery
- Cabbage
- Bok choy
DO I HAVE TO TOAST THE SESAME SEEDS?
I highly suggest toasting them if you can, I think the flavor of the toasted sesame seeds really makes this dish. If needed, you can skip toasting them.
If you’re worried about how to toast them, simply toss them in a skillet at medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Watch them carefully, turn them as needed. They’re done when they’re golden or medium brown in color.
HOW TO STORE:
Any leftover Beef Stir Fry should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator where it will keep for up to 3-4 days.
This can also be frozen, place in a freezer container where it will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
To defrost, remove from the freezer into the refrigerator overnight until thawed. Reheat leftovers in the microwave.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- If you taste your stir fry and think that it’s too salty, add a teaspoon of vinegar to help balance it out. You can also use low sodium soy sauce to help avoid the too salty problem.
- Feel free to add more vegetables or trade some out to suit your tastes, I shared more ideas above.
- You can use white sugar in place of brown sugar.
- If you don’t know how to toast the sesame seeds, I shared tips above on how to do that.
- If you can’t find flank steak, there are a few other options you can use instead.
- If you have to cut the meat first, always cut along the grain of the meat, along in the same direction. Don’t cut against it.
- This can be frozen, see above on how to do that.
- Easily double this recipe to make more, or save for later.
