Either you are a candy corn fan or not, there really is no in-between, but when it comes to this Candy Corn Hot Chocolate, boy is it really tasty.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT BOTTOM):
Milk
Heavy cream
Candy corn
White chocolate chips
Water
Vanilla extract
Toppings: marshmallows, whipped cream, hot fudge, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, optional
HOW TO MAKE CANDY CORN HOT CHOCOLATE, STEP BY STEP:
- Add the water to a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling add candy corns and stir until melted.
- Lower the heat to medium and add milk, heavy cream, and white chocolate chips.
- Stir until white chocolate chips are melted and the liquid is smooth.
- Turn off the heat, add vanilla extract and stir to combine.
- Serve in mugs with toppings of your choice.
WHY CAN’T I JUST TOSS IT ALL TOGETHER AND HEAT IT UP?
While I imagine this could work, if you just toss all the ingredients in, you risk burning your milk and the white chocolate because your heat can get too high easily.
This is why I suggest to lower the heat before you add in the milk and chocolate ingredients so you don’t burn anything.
DO I HAVE TO USE CANDY CORN?
Well, isn’t that the sole star of the show in this hot chocolate recipe? I don’t recommend swapping it out for other things as the flavor and color of the drink will change.
CAN I MAKE MY CANDY CORN HOT CHOCOLATE AHEAD OF TIME?
I don’t recommend making this drink ahead of time because the chocolate will settle to the bottom of the mug as the drink cools.
This drink is best when served immediately after you make it.
If you do try to make it beforehand, I suggest adding it all back to a saucepan and reheating it on low heat before serving again.
HOW TO STORE:
This drink is best to enjoy right when you make it. I don’t suggest trying to store it for later.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- You can swap the heavy whipping cream out for half and half or regular milk. But, just remember that doing this will change the creaminess of your drink. Heavy whipping cream gives it the perfect creamy consistency and flavor.
- I don’t recommend making this ahead of time or trying to save any for later. It settles and won’t taste right anymore.
- You can use any of the optional toppings, none, or all of them for a real decadent drink.
- Try adding a few of the candy pumpkins that you can usually find right next to the candy corn.
- Keep a spoon with your drink and give it a good stir in between sips to keep everything from settling to the bottom of the mug.
