INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST):
Wheat chex cereal
Rice chex cereal
Goldfish crackers
Pretzels
Unsalted butter
Dry ranch seasoning
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER RANCH CHEX MIX, STEP BY STEP:
- In a large bowl, add the wheat chex cereal, rice chex cereal, goldfish crackers and pretzels.
- Stir everything together until it is combined.
- Melt the butter and stir in half of the package of ranch mix.
- Drizzle the seasoned butter mixture over the chex mix and stir to combine. Sprinkle the remaining ranch seasoning on the chex mix and stir again.
- Working in small batches, place the chex mix in the basket of the air fryer and cook at 350 degrees F for 5 minutes. Repeat with mix until all is done.
- Place in a bowl and serve!
CAN I BAKE THIS?
Yes absolutely, I know not everyone has an air fryer or maybe you don’t want to use an air fryer at times so you can absolutely bake this in the oven.
To do this spread mixture on a large baking pan and bake in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hours at 350 degrees F stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool and place in serving bowl.
We do this often too because we don’t always like to whip out the air fryer and just want to place it in the oven, but both ways are fine.
We do find that the air fryer makes this Chex Mix just a little more crispier and it is done so much faster, but if you’re in no hurry then it shouldn’t matter.
WHAT OTHER INGREDIENTS CAN I ADD TO THIS?
Want to swap out or switch up some of the ingredients in this Air Fryer Ranch Chex Mix? No problem, some ideas that you can use include:
- Crispix Cereal
- Peanuts
- Oyster Crackers
- Cheez-Its
- Rye Chips
Anything smaller that you think is great in a snack mix and would taste well with ranch would work!
CAN I USE ANOTHER SEASONING BLEND?
Absolutely! If you want to switch up your flavors in this Chex Mix Recipe then you can do that.
Some other seasoning packets that would be good include: Buffalo Ranch, Italian, Taco, Garlic Parmesan, etc.
I love testing out new seasoning combinations, so these would be some fun ways to make new flavors.
DO I HAVE TO USE UNSALTED BUTTER?
I highly recommend that you are using unsalted butter for this recipe. The ingredients and seasoning already contain enough salt.
You do not want to overpower your Air Fryer Chex Mix with salt, so I would definitely use unsalted butter.
HOW TO STORE:
This can be stored in an airtight container or a ziptop bag where it will keep for up to 4-6 weeks.
This can also be frozen, place in a freezer container or bag and it will keep for up to 5-6 months.
To defrost, remove to countertop until thawed. If you want you can reheat it in the air fryer to get a little warmth to it.
