WHAT DOES A WHISKEY GINGER TASTE LIKE?
You get warm notes from the whiskey and the ginger ale but a bit of a kick from the lime juice and the carbonation from the ginger ale.
WHAT WHISKEY CAN I USE?
We typically use Irish whiskey for this recipe, mainly Jameson. But you can use any whiskey that you like. Some that we have used include:
- Redbreast
- Bushmills
- Jack Daniel’s
- Evan Williams
- Jim Beam
- Black Velvet
- Southern Comfort
CAN I USE BOTTLED LIME JUICE?
While fresh lime juice tastes the best, bottled can be used in a pinch and if that is all that you have on hand.
CAN I USE GINGER BEER FOR THIS?
If you want a bolder flavor you can absolutely use ginger beer for this. You would essentially be making a version of a Kentucky Mule.
The only difference between bourbon and whiskey is where it is made and that at least 51% of the grain mixture is corn.
HOW TO STORE:
I do not recommend storing this recipe, it is best drank once it is made.
