WHAT KIND OF STEAK SHOULD I USE?
We use sirloin steak for this recipe but that is not a hard and fast rule to make this recipe. You can use whatever your favorite cut of steak is, pretty much whatever will work.
WHAT KIND OF POTATOES SHOULD I USE?
Our favorite to use is Yukon gold, but you can use what you have on hand, Russet, red, etc. Literally this meal is so easy and you can just use what you have on hand or what you can find in stores.
You don’t need to complicate it by trying to find the exact ingredients that I use these are just a preference of ours.
This is a meal in itself but if you feel like you would like too serve something along the side with this you absolutely can.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH STEAK BITES:
Really whatever you think would go good with these Steak Bites is good in my book. We usually like to serve some garlic bread on the side and then something light.
There is no need to make something heavier or starchy to do with this meal because you already have your potatoes, and meat so a good vegetable is all you would really need to complete these Steak Bites and Potatoes off.
HOW TO STORE:
Let the recipe cool or come to room temperature then place leftovers into an airtight container. Place them in your refrigerator and they should stay good for about 5 days
To reheat, add everything to a skillet over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the steak and potatoes are heated through. You can add some butter to the pan if things are drying up for you.
These can also be frozen, complete the step above and then store in an freezer bag, they will stay good for up to 3 months in the freezer. Let defrost in refrigerator then follow the step above to reheat.
Don’t these Steak Bites and Potatoes just look delicious, the steak is super juicy and has all the flavor that one could ask for, this is hands down one of my favorite meals!
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- We use sirloin steak for this, but you can use your favorite cut.
- Yukon gold is our potatoes of choice but use what you have on hand.
- We prefer a cast iron skillet for cooking these as it really helps get a nice sear on the meat and crispness on the potatoes.
- This can be frozen, see my tips above on how to do that.
- You can easily double this recipe, just cook in a larger skillet for more people.
