It’s pretty much irresistible, and that’s how I feel about this combo quick bread. It’s the perfect amount of pumpkin bread but has a flair of banana to change things up a bit!
Now when you think of combinations you really don’t think of these two together, but once you bite into that first slice, you will see how delicious it is and it will become a hit.

Pumpkin pie spice
Baking soda
Ground cinnamon
Salt
Baking powder
Granulated sugar
Light brown sugar

Mashed overripe banana
HOW TO MAKE PUMPKIN BANANA BREAD, STEP BY STEP:
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF and spray two 8.5ร4.5-inch loaf pans with nonstick spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Set aside
- In a large measuring cup or medium bowl, beat together the sugars, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Then beat in the pumpkin and mashed banana.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and beat until combined.
- Divide the batter between the two greased loaf pans and bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until a cake tester comes clean from the center of the loaves.
CAN I MAKE MINI LOAVES OR MUFFINS WITH THIS RECIPE?
Yes, you can! This bread recipe makes two larger loaves, so if you want to, you can make mini bread loaves or even some pumpkin banana muffins instead.
If you decide to make the mini bread loaves or muffins with this bread recipe, you’ll need to check them for doneness a LOT sooner, try at the 20 minute mark and adjust as necessary.
WHAT ADD-INS CAN I USE?
If you want to add some tasty things to this classic bread, you can. I like to add about a cup and a half of chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the bread batter. I suggest folding it in right before you go to transfer it to the loaf pans.
CAN I ADD A GLAZE?
Sure! I think a maple glaze would be fantastic. You could also use a classic powdered sugar and milk combo glaze, or a thin peanut butter glaze. If you don’t want a glaze but want a topping, try sprinkling with powdered sugar or bake with a streusel topping as well.
HOW TO STORE:
Any leftover bread should be wrapped in plastic or stored in an airtight container at room temperature where it will keep for up to 3 days.
If you want to freeze this bread, once it’s cooled, wrap it in plastic and then aluminum foil before putting it in a freezer bag where it will for up to 3 months.
To defrost, remove from the freezer to the countertop overnight until thawed.
