- Use tongs to transfer sticks in the cinnamon mixture and roll to coat all sides with the sweet mixture.
- Serve immediately with Nutella, maple syrup or honey for dipping.
DO I HAVE TO USE WHOLE MILK?
While we think this recipe works best with whole milk, you can certainly use other milk and even milk alternatives, like oat milk, coconut milk, or almond milk.
OTHER THAN NUTELLA WHAT CAN I USE?
If you want to use something else instead of Nutella, try:
- Peanut Butter
- Biscoff
- Other Nut Butters
- Your Favorite Spreads
WHAT KIND OF BREAD WORKS BEST?
Any kind of thick and sturdy bread works best. Day-old bread works better than fresh bread as it holds the egg mixture better than fresh bread.
Some options that we like include Brioche, Texas Toast, English Muffin Bread and more. But use what you have on hand.
HOW TO STORE:
Store leftover Nutella French Toast Sticks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
To keep the Cinnamon French Toast Sticks longer, place them on a cutting board and let them freeze in the freezer for 1-2 hours or until they’re firm, before removing them and transferring them to a freezer safe bag and freezing them for up to 3 months.
You can thaw these and then reheat them in the oven, or in a skillet. If using the oven, try baking them at 375F for 6-7 minutes.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Feel free to garnishes these with any fresh fruit. Raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries would all be great.
- You can freeze these sticks of French Toast. Get my tips on that above. I like to make an extra batch to freeze and use later.
- If needed, you can swap out the nutella spread for other options to make different flavored Cinnamon French Toast Sticks.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar for an extra pop of sweet.
- You can dip these in Nutella, honey, maple syrup, or other smooth dippables, or just enjoy plain, as Nutella Stuffed French Toast Sticks.
