Want a super easy, 4 ingredient recipe that is refreshing and tasty? You need to make this Frozen Lemonade, the perfect sweet way to cool you down on those warm day.
When it comes to drink recipes when the weather gets warm or cool, we are all about them. We pretty much have a drink recipe for any season.
What we like most though, is easy recipes that whip up in no time, because we really don’t like to have to wait too long to quench our thirst.
Some of our favorite drinks that we make throughout the year include Homemade Sweet Tea, Italian Hot Chocolate and Cherry Limeade!
We like to have a variety of different drinks on hand for our readers, kid friendly, warm, alcoholic, etc. A little variety for every person.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- Using only 4 ingredients, this is super easy to whip up.
- You can adjust the sugar for your sweetness taste.
- You can make this as thick or as thin as you like depending on how much ice you add in.
This Frozen Lemonade is such a fun twist on regular lemonade that my kids request it more often because it’s almost like a slushy, and they cant resist those.
HOW TO MAKE FROZEN LEMONADE, STEP BY STEP:
- Mix together 1 cup water and sugar in pan and head over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Add in lemon juice and cool completely.
- Add about 5 cups of ice to a high powered blender.
- Add in 2 cups cold water.
- Add in your lemon simple syrup mixture.
- Blend until you get your desired consistency.
How much more simple can you get with this recipe, seriously. This Frozen Lemonade is seriously so good, and who doesn’t love a good frozen drink?
CAN I PUT ALCOHOL IN THIS?
You absolutely can, you can substitute some of the cold water for your favorite vodka or tequila or rum, whatever you’d like you can certainly add.
Now we usually make it kid friendly so we just stick with the straight up lemonade part, but you guys do you, no judgement here!
CAN THIS BE COMPLETELY FROZEN?
Again, yes! This can be frozen completely. We usually dump it into a zip top bag and toss it in our freezer, it usually lasts a few months.
When we want to reuse, we just put it in our fridge to thaw out some and pour it into our glasses since it’s already frozen it should remain the same texture after it is thawed a little bit.
If you don’t feel like you are getting the right consistency that you want for this Frozen Lemonade Recipe, just add a bit more ice, it should really thicken up then.
We don’t like ours too thick, we do like it still drinkable and sippable through a straw, so we keep it on the mellow side, but know that the more ice you add the thicker it will get.
But it will also dilute it more, so there is an issue there, but the flavor will still be there, if you’re worried just toss in a little extra lemon juice for good measure.
We like to top off our Frozen Lemonade Recipe with some lemon zest just to give it a little bit of color and pizazz, I mean you always want your drinks to look pretty right?
Since I know a lot of you love lemon as well some of my favorite lemon desserts include, Lemon Sugar Cookies, Lemon Layer Cake and Lemon Ricotta Cake!
Trust me you’ll want to try them all, you can never just buy one lemon so I say go crazy on all the lemon things, especially this Frozen Lemonade!
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- We use fresh squeezed lemon juice for this recipe, but you can use bottled if it is easier.
- We like more sugar in this, if you want it less sweet just decrease the amount of sugar, and if you want more sweetness add a little more sugar, we suggest 1/2 cup in either direction.
- We start with 5 cups of ice for this recipe, you may need to add more to get your desired consistency.
- This does separate a little bit as the slush likes to sit at the top, so give it a good stir to incorporate everything.
- This needs to be served in one sitting if not freezing, otherwise it will melt.
- You can add alcohol if you’d like a boozy version, just substitute some of the cold water with your favorite alcohol.
If you want that perfect Spring and Summer drink I highly recommend whipping up this Frozen Lemonade, super simple, super flavorful and the whole family loves it!
