If you are looking for that perfect drink this St. Patrick’s Day than you need to make this Dirty Irishman! Filled with Baileys, Irish whiskey and coffee, you can’t go wrong.
I love a good drink here and there, this Dirty Irishman has been one that we have been shaking up for years. It combines some of our favorite non-fruity flavors into a delicious cold cocktail.
Baileys is one of my favorite liquors so whenever I get the chance to use it, I do and it works absolutely wonderful in this drink. The flavors together blend so nicely and all go down smooth.
Whiskey, Irish cream, coffee and heavy cream really make this taste more like a nice milkshake than anything. But with the Irish flair it is perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
Although this isn’t just one you have to use for a certain holiday, it is perfect all year long – especially if you love the flavor of coffee which in this house we absolutely do.
The best part is that these liquors are super easy to find at your local liquor store and you can make as many as you’d like! Top it all off with some whipped cream and a cherry and you’re set.
If you are a drinker of any sort and want to try something different but also amazing, then you absolutely have to make this Dirty Irishman!
Some of my other favorite drinks we have on our site include: Coquito, Frozen Mudslide and Hot Toddy.

WHAT KIND OF IRISH WHISKEY IS BEST?
Our go-to has always been Jameson, but you can use any of your favorite irish whiskeys! Some other include Bushmills Original, Dead Rabbit, Powers Gold Label, Glendalough Double Barrel and Kilbeggan Single Pot Still.
You can use any kind and any price point that you like. Jameson is really easy to access around here and is at a good price point so it is the one that we use most often.
DO I HAVE TO USE STRONG BREWED COFFEE?
If you do not want to make a batch of coffee for this drink you can also use a strong cold brew coffee or even espresso.
WHAT KIND OF WHIPPED CREAM CAN I USE?
Use homemade whipped cream, whipped cream in a can, or even whipped topping! You really donโt need to top it with anything, it’s delicious as is, but adding the garnishes makes it a really pretty drink and extra delicious.
CAN THIS BE MADE INTO A MILKSHAKE?
100% yes! We do this often! Trust me it turns out to be one of the best milkshakes out there! What you will want to do is omit the ice and add all your liquors, coffee and cream into a blender along with 6 scoops of ice cream and blend.
HOW TO STORE:
You can make this ahead of time with blending the liquors together and keep in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving and then pour over ice.
I do not recommend storing for long term.
