WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE AND CRAB RANGOON?
Cream Cheese Wontons and Crab Rangoons are similar. You just have to add a ยผ cup lump crab meat to make crab rangoon!
If you want to make these make sure you have more wrappers.
CAN THESE BE BAKED?
If you’re trying to limit fried food intake, you can bake them. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 350 degrees F for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
HOW TO STORE:
These Cream Cheese Wontons will last in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days. I do not suggest freezing these.
For reheating I suggest drying them again until warm or placing them in the oven for 5-8 minutes at 350 degrees F.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Feel free to use this as a base recipe to make crab rangoon, see my info on how to do that above.
- You can trade out the dipping sauce, see some other ideas above.
- This recipe makes quite a few wontons, but you can easily double it to make more.
- While frying these wontons, it’s normal for some of the cheese filling to escape.
- Be sure to only use a little filling inside. The more you add, the more that can escape and get lost in the fryer.
- Don’t use dumpling wrappers, they aren’t the same as wonton wrappers, and will not come out the same way.
