HOW TO MAKE FRIED PICKLES STEP BY STEP:
-
- Prepare oil for frying by heating vegetable oil in a pan to medium high heat until it reaches 375 degrees.
- Meanwhile whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, onion and garlic in a small bowl and set aside.
- In another small bowl whisk together the buttermilk and egg.
- One at a time, dip each pickle chip in the flour mixture first, followed by the egg mixture and finishing with another coat of the flour mixture. Continue until all pickle chips are coated.
- Working in small batches, carefully place the pickle chips in the heated oil and cook for about 1 minute on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove the chips from the oil and place on a cooling rack. Continue this process until all pickle chips are cooked.
- Serve with ranch dressing.
Ranch dressing is a must in this recipe in my opinion! I absolutely love having my Fried Pickle Recipe served with ranch dressing and never eat it any other way.
I think it is common to be served with ranch, or your choice of dipping sauce, but I mean I dip all the things in ranch so it just is a natural condiment to me!
HOW TO STORE:
Although Fried Pickles are best the same day, if you do have leftovers you can store them in the refrigerator. Let cool completely then store on top of a paper towel.
The paper towel will help soak up any moisture that they will release during refrigeration. They will stay good in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
To reheat this Fried Pickle Recipe you will want to place on a baking sheet and stick in the oven under the broiler and let them broil for a minute for two, this will help crisp them up.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- We use dill pickle chips, but you can use any favor of pickles that you like best.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, ours is ranch but the are also great with honey mustard or a garlic aioli.
- Make sure you pat your pickles dry before coating, this will help the coating to stay on.
- You an choose to make these in a pan on the stove or in your deep fryer.

The fried pickle recipe is wonderful!. I have a question for you. Have you ever tried to prepare them a day ahead and fry them the next day? They are a bit time consuming if you are having a party with lots of other things to prepare. Please let me know and if you did, how it worked.
Thanks,
Penelope
