Love a good appetizer? These Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms are super easy to make using minimal ingredients, effort and time!
Let’s just talk about appetizers for a minute shall we? We shall. They are my most favorite things on the face of the planet.
If you’ve read my website for sometime, I usually write this on any and all appetizer recipe that I post, because it’s true and I really like to reiterate that!
Now these Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms are one recipe that we have been making for a LOOOOOOONG time. It was one of the first recipes on my site back in 2015.
It was time it needed a makeover and I really wanted to share with you this delicious little party treat that if you are a mushroom lover, you will fall head over heels for.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- Super simple ingredients are used making this an easy recipe to whip up when you are throwing a party or having a get together.
- Baking in only 20 minutes they are quick!
- Bacon makes everything better….period.
Bacon and cheese together really are the perfect pairing, thats why we love to add them to these Stuffed Mushrooms. It’s a classic combo.
There are a lot of non-mushroom lovers out there, but with this Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Mushroom recipe I have actually converted some over to liking them, woohoo!!
HOW TO MAKE STUFFED MUSHROOMS, STEP BY STEP:
- In bowl add your cream cheese, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, bacon and hot sauce and mix together until combined.
- Split your mixture evenly between all of your mushrooms until each are filled.
- Pour your breadcrumbs onto a plate or in bowl and tip the tops of your mushrooms in them trying to coat all your filing.
- Place on parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes until golden.
How stupidly simple is this recipe?? Seriously though, it’s like 4 steps, and thats what I love about these Stuffed Mushrooms.
I’m all for easy recipes all the time anyways, some of our favorite easy appetizer recipes include Baked Buffalo Wings, Italian Pinwheels and these Honey BBQ Crockpot Meatballs!
CAN I PREPARE STUFFED MUSHROOMS A DAY BEFORE?
You can actually make these a few days in advance and store them in a airtight container and placed in the refrigerator.
You do not need to let them come to room temperature before you bake, but you may need to bake a few extra minutes longer to make sure everything is melty inside.
Now I can’t take credit for this recipe, this is all my husband. He has loved stuffed mushrooms for as long as I have known him and this has always been his signature one.
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR MAKING BACON AND CHEESE STUFFED MUSHROOMS:
- We use white button mushrooms for this recipe but you can also use cremini mushrooms as well.
- You can use regular bacon or real bacon bits for this recipe, we have used both.
- If you aren’t a hot sauce fan, leave it out, it doesn’t add much heat but it adds to the flavor.
- You can switch up your cheese preference if you’d like, cheddar is always a good choice.
- We use regular bread crumbs but for different texture you can use panko and a different flavor you can use italian style.
If you are looking for that perfect appetizer recipe that will be gone quicker than you can say mushroom then you have to try these Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms!
