Apple juice
Lemon juice
Unsalted butter
HOW TO MAKE APPLE SYRUP, STEP BY STEP:
- Whisk the cornstarch, cinnamon, and sugar in a saucepan.
- Add the apple and lemon juice and heat over medium-high heat, whisking frequently until boiling.
- Boil for 3 minutes then remove from heat and add the butter. Whisk till smooth.
- The syrup will thicken as it cools. Serve over pancakes or your other favorite things!
WHY IS MY SYRUP RUNNY?
You most likely haven’t boiled it long enough. You will want to boil it long enough where it isn’t super runny and has some thickness to it.
Test this with the back of a spoon to see and reach your desired consistency.

CAN I USE APPLE CIDER INSTEAD OF JUICE?
Yes! If you want a more intense Fall flavor you can absolutely substitute apple cider in place of the juice if you’d like.
CAN I USE BROWN SUGAR IN THIS RECIPE?
If you really want an intense flavor brown sugar can be used, but I would still use regular granulated sugar.
Just split the sugar measurement in half and use half brown and half granulated.

This Apple Syrup can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container where it will keep for up to 1-2 weeks.
