When it comes to fall, apple recipes are my favorite things on the planet. Now I am not opposed to apple recipes all year round because I’m one of those people who doesn’t really believe in seasonal recipes.

I know some people may call me crazy but I’m one of those that can have soup, pumpkin, apple and anything else all year long and not even be one once upset about it.

This apple dumpling recipe is something that my kids always beg me to make when we have extra apples on hand. They are a fun and unique recipe that whips up in minutes and when served warm with ice cream is a truly addictive dessert.

WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU NEED?

  • Apples

That list is super short, just the way we like it and it makes a huge batch that feeds a family of 6 like mine. While you can halve this recipe, I highly recommend you don’t just for the simple fact that it won’t last long.

You would never believe how baking something in liquid could turn out so glorious. But we just can’t put the spoon down in this house!

My daughter goes nuts for these “Mountain Dew apple dumplings” and she is such a super picky eater. It’s like hot dogs and cheese is the only thing that makes that 3 year old happy, yuck I say! But when I can get her to eat anything even if it is sweets, this is one happy mama!

Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings

Oh and let me tell you, the sauce that these Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings create is magnificent. I could just eat that with a spoon. It’s like a caramel, tart, sweet gooey mixture that you just want to lap up with these dumplings, it’s pretty much the best part of the dish hands down for sure.

Just take my advice when I say go make these now! You won’t regret it!

  1. They look
absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to make them but, what is vanilla paste and can it be substituted with vanilla extract?

    1. Hi Lynnette, unfortunately I can’t think of any non carbonated substitutes that would work or give it the same flavor. You can try with maybe a lemonade of sorts and see if it works but I have never tried anything besides pop.

  2. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! I’d rather have this than pie any day! My apples came out a little Al dente but after leaving them in the oven a while on the keep warm setting they were perfect. We had with ice cream! PEFECTION! Excellent recipe! Thanks!
