- 2 ½ Tablespoons cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups apple juice
- Squeeze of lemon juice
- 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
Whisk the cornstarch, cinnamon, and sugar in a saucepan.
Add the apple and lemon juice and heat over medium-high heat, whisking frequently until boiling.
Boil for 3 minutes then remove from heat and add the butter. Whisk till smooth.
The syrup will thicken as it cools. Serve over pancakes or your other favorite things!
- Do not forget the cornstarch, this will help thicken up the syrup.
- It will get thicker as it cools, you can heat it in the microwave or on the stovetop to thin it out for serving.
- You can use half brown sugar and half granulated sugar for a deeper flavor.
- Apple cider can be used in place of apple juice.
- Make sure that you are boiling it long enough so the syrup thickens and is not to runny.
- If you want a more rich cinnamon flavor, boil some cinnamon sticks in with the syrup.
