These Apple Cinnamon muffins strike the perfect balance between sweet and tart to create this wonderfully moist and flavorful fall dessert.
I’m a huge muffin fan, I’m not really picky on the type either but I’m particularly fond of fruit flavored muffins and these Apple Cinnamon Muffins are exactly that.
I love apple desserts, especially! Itโs easily one of my favorite fall treats. However, I donโt love the hassle of making a homemade apple pie.
Pie dough can be finicky and if you donโt slice the apples thinly enough, the whole texture of your pie will be off. Iโve spent many an hour perfecting the perfect apple pie, that will be coming soon.
In he mean time, my solution? Creating a dessert that tastes like apple pie but is sooooo much easier to make, these super easy and addictive Apple Cinnamon Muffins!
These Apple Cinnamon Muffins are packed with the warm, sweet, and tart flavors of a classic apple pie, but unlike a true pie, these muffins can be made in just over 30 minutes.
Simply whip up a quick muffin batter, fold in some chopped apples, spoon into a muffin tin, top with a sugary crumb topping, and bake!

DO I NEED TO PEEL MY APPLES?
Not necessarily. If youโre looking to make the most nutritious version of this recipe as possible, (and donโt mind the texture of cooked apple peel) you can totally keep the peel on your apples.
But, if youโre like me and arenโt a big fan of cooked apple peel, you can still get those good nutrients by making your own peel-on apple puree to use in place of the apples!
WHAT APPLES ARE BEST FOR THESE MUFFINS?
We like to use Granny Smith apples, I love how the tart, sour flavor of these apples balances with the sweet and spicy notes of the muffin batter. Other types of apples that would work well in this recipe are Honeycrisp, Fuji, and Gala.
OTHER VARIATIONS:
Try using apple sauce instead of chopped apples for a more uniform muffin. Kids especially seem to prefer these muffins without the apple chunks.
Add cinnamon chips or caramel bites to your muffin batter for a dessert-worthy batch of apple pie muffins.
Top these muffins with vanilla ice cream or cream cheese frosting for the full Fall experience. Bonus points if your muffins are warm!

Store this Apple Cinnamon Muffin Recipe in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the frefrigerator for up to 5 days.
These can also be frozen, let muffins cool completely then wrap saran wrap and place in freezer bags. Place in the freezer where they should keep for up to a month. Let defrost on the countertop.
