I have been busting out my slow cooker more this season, we have been so busy with so many different things that slow cooker meals have been the way to go!

I get these started in the morning and they are read for when dinner time comes around and I have 4 hungry growing mouths to feed.
You can serve these over mashed potatoes, rice, or whatever you like. Even plain is great! We do whatever we have on had that day, but over mashed potatoes is my favorite way.
This Slow Cooker Pork Chop Recipe is just one of those that you will want to make over and over again because it is a comfort meal and who doesn’t enjoy a good comfort meal!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SLOW COOKER PORK CHOPS:
CAN I MAKE THESE WITH BONE-IN PORK CHOPS?
Yes you absolutely can. If you are more of a bone-in pork chop lover then you can make these with those.
You can follow this exact same recipe and the same cooking time. Nothing needs to be changed or made special for using bone-in pork chops.
WHY DO I NEED TO BROWN MY PORK CHOPS?
What it essentially does is speed up the cooking time and also give a caramelization aspect to the meat itself.
Since we add flour to this it helps our gravy because nice and rich and a great texture. Searing is not actually necessary but has always been something we have done.
WHAT CAN I SERVE WITH THESE?
What we normally serve these with or over is mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles. If you want to add more with this a nice side salad is not heavy.
Serve with bread or rolls (perfect for dipping in the gravy). Any kind of lighter side dish like a vegetable will go great with these as the meal itself is heavy so you want a lighter side.
HOW TO STORE:
These can be stored in an airtight container with gravy in the refrigerator where they will keep for up to 3 days.
They can also be frozen. Place cooked pork chops and gravy in a freezer bag or container and they will keep for up to 3 months.
Let defrost in the refrigerator overnight, then I suggest reheating in the microwave.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- We used an 8 quart slow cooker for these but a 6 quart will also work.
- Bone-in pork chops can also be used.
- We like to sear our pork chops before hand, see my tips on why above.
- These are best served over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles with a lighter side if desired.
- These can be frozen, see above on how to do that.
- Cook on low or high depending on your timeframe you need them done in!
Looking for that perfect comfort food that you can pretty much set it and forget it, then these Slow Cooker Pork Chops are just what you need.
