Love a quick and easy dinnertime meal that only requires 6 ingredients? Then you’ll have to whip up this super simple and tasty French Bread Pizza.
Pizza has always been our go-to meal when we have nothing else in mind for dinnertime. It’s usually quick and easy and fills everyone up.
We try to make homemade pizza whenever we can but a lot of the time we just don’t want to make homemade dough and have to wait on everything.
Welcome to French Bread Pizza. Super simple, time saving and you can pretty much put any and all your favorite pizza toppings on it.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- Minimal ingredients make this such an easy recipe
- It can be dressed up or dressed down with all the toppings that you like.
- It serves a whole family leaving everyone full.
We regularly keep larger deli style pepperoni’s on hand so to make them smaller and not cut them up for this French Bread Pizza is that we use a small cookie cutter.
You could easily just cut them into smaller pieces and use them as well if you like to buy them this way also, but any pepperoni will do.
HOW TO MAKE FRENCH BREAD PIZZA, STEP BY STEP:
- Cut you loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place on baking sheet.
- Spread your pizza sauce over the tops of your bread until covered.
- Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, grated parmesan, garlic powder and oregano.
- Place your pepperoni (or desired toppings) on top and bake in oven at 425 for about 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is toasted.
This really is a fool-proof recipe that you can not screw up. Another idea for this is to use one side as French Bread Pizza and the other side of the bread as garlic bread.
That way you will have a whole meal, garlic bread and pizza? How could you go wrong with that!.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COOK:
Like stated above it usually takes about 10 minutes to make, this will allow time for the cheese to melt and the toppings to bake up.
You can pre-bake your bread a little if you like some extra crispness and a crunchier texture so that would maybe add about 5 more minutes to your cook time.
OTHER TOPPING IDEAS:
- Sausage
- Peppers
- Onions
- Pineapple
- Canadian Bacon
- Olives
Really if there is a favorite pizza topping that you love you can easily add those toppings to this. We also love making this with BBQ sauce and shredded chicken for a BBQ Chicken pizza.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Switch up your toppings to whatever your favorite pizza toppings are.
- Try with an Italian Loaf of bread where you will have some extra seasoning on the outside.
- Make on sub rolls so everyone has their own single serving pizzas.
- We like a mixture of mozzarella and parmesan cheese, but you can use any type of cheese you enjoy.
- Use one side of the bread for garlic bread and one for French Bread Pizza if you’re serving less people.
- Toast your bread by brushing some butter over the cut side before putting topping on to give it a little more crispiness if you like that.
