WHAT IS THE BEST WHITE CHOCOLATE TO USE?
For melting purposes you really want to use a higher quality white chocolate. Some of those include: Ghirardelli, Hershey’s, Guittard, etc.
You can choose to use this as chips or in a baking bar. Just ensure that it is high quality.
CAN I USE ANOTHER FLAVOR OF EXTRACT?
If you still want that white chocolate but with a different flavor than vanilla you can absolutely try adding some peppermint extract, almond extract, rum extract, etc.
CAN I SPIKE THIS EASY WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE?
If you want to give it a little bite and make it alcoholic you can absolutely do that. We prefer to add a little alcohol in each glass. Some alcohols that you can use include:
- Kahluha
- Peppermint Schnapps
- Baileys
- Vodka
Add any of your favorite and what you think would go well in your hot chocolate recipe.
WHAT CAN I TOP/GARNISH THIS WITH?
While we love the normal mini marshmallows or whipped cream you can also top with chocolate shavings, candy canes or line the cup with crushed candy canes, a chocolate drizzle, etc.
HOW TO STORE:
To store, allow to cool, then place in an airtight container in the refrigerator where it will keep or up to 3 days.
To reheat, place in a saucepan on the stove over low heat for 2-3 minutes carefully not to overheat. Or place in a mug and microwave for 45 seconds then 15 second increments until warm.
