With only 3 ingredients this Easy Sausage Dip whips up in no time and is a favorite recipe filled with meat, cream cheese and a little bit of spice.
Appetizers are my favorite, you probably already all now that tay this point in time. I think I mention that any time that I post any type of appetizer recipe.
Dips are something we really enjoy. Now can I be completely honest with you all? I am not the chips and salsa type of person. Eek, I know weird right?
A lot of my friends just shake their heads at me when I tell that that I really don’t care for plain chips and salsa. I’m not sure what it is, but I have never enjoyed it. I always feel like those free chips and salsa that they give you at the Mexican place goes to waste because I don’t eat them.
Now if you give me some chips and some amazing dip like this Easy Sausage Dip then I turn into a fan real quick. I’m a fan of dips all around, hot, cold, cheese, meat, you name it, I’m the one that will be digging in big time!
This Sausage Dip is seriously the most simple dip that you can make. It is also one of the most addicting ones as well. Who would think that throwing three simple ingredients together would make something that is super addicting that you won’t want to stop!
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU NEED?
- Sausage
- Cream cheese
- Rotel
I mean how much more simple can you get that that?!?! Amiright? Yeah of course I’m right. I know that there will be a few of you shaking your heads saying that there is a lot of dips much more simpler than this one, but seriously, this is just to easy not to call it the most simple dip ever.
HOW DO YOU SAUSAGE DIP?
- In a large skillet brown your ground sausage until no longer pink, drain excess grease.
- Add in your cream cheese and Rotel and serve until melted and creamy.
- Serve right away with chips or place into a small slow cooker and keep warm until ready to serve.
This Rotel Sausage dip literally is done in less than 10 minutes. Those are my kids of recipes. We have been making this classic appetizer for years and years. It gives us a little break from the normal rotel dip made of velveeta cheese, hamburger and Rotel.
The cream cheese in this recipe really just balances out the spiciness from the Rotel itself! Which I like because I’m one of those people that doesn’t like the too too spicy kinds of dishes out there. I do like a little spice to my life, but not so much that I can barely eat it.
OTHER ADDITIONS TO THIS DIP:
- Corn
- Red chili flakes
- Black beans
- Shredded cheese
- Green chiles
There is a lot of ways that you can customize it to your liking to add just a little bit more if you like, but we are truly just fans of it the way it is no doubt!
It’s a classic dip recipe that is great for when you want to sit down and munch on something and watch a movie, football games, birthday parties, you name it!
If you like your dip really spicy, switch up the sausage in this recipe for the hot sausage or like stated above add in some red chili flakes to give it a little extra heat!

Thought this was very good. But I will put my Ro-tel in the processor, I don’t care for the big chunks.
Tornadough Alli
So happy you liked it! It’s always a hit for sure, and I know that some people don’t like the chunks of the tomatoes so putting it through the processor is a good idea!
