When you’re craving cookies you cant help the feeling. These Cake Mix Cookies are fun, easy and you can make any flavor imaginable.
So we are a big cookie household. I used to absolutely hate cookies, but but my husband had always loved them so after we got married I ended up making them more and more and they finally just grew on me.
If you haven’t noticed there are SO many cookie recipes out there. I love myself a good homemade cookie but sometimes we want something just quick and easy and these Cake Mix Cookies are one of our go-to options.
Now like any kid, mine always have a different flavor that they like. So these Cake Mix Cookies are the perfect option to satisfy all of their cravings in one or in this case four simple ways.
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU NEED?
- Cake mix
- Oil
- Eggs
- Mix ins
Now tell me that that list can not get any more simple than that. Like I’ve pretty much said in all my posts, we like quick and easy around here. Even if it looks difficult chances are it is easy on this website.
The cookie flavors we chose to make for these cookies are:
- Cookies and Cream
- Chocolate M&M’s
- Pecan Spice
- Mint Chocolate
My husbands favorite cookie hands down was the Cookies and Cream, but he is a sucker for anything Oreo so I knew right from the start that those were going to be his favorite.
My favorite were the Chocolate M&M’s and the kids were all over the board when it came to what they like. They are kids so they usually have a hard time in choose which one the like best, hence why these 4 different recipes are such a great idea.
The best thing about these cookies is that you can freeze them. You can even freeze the dough for later use if you would like.
Just portion out your cookie size and place them in ziploc baggies with parchment paper in-between your layers and freeze them for up to 3 months then let thaw in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before baking.
If you’ve never made cookies from cake mix you are MISSING OUT! So I won’t lie, we buy a lot of cake mix just to have on hand so when it doesn’t go to use for a cake or something cookies are our next best option.
Also, if you are anything like me then you will have a pantry that is full of half bags of chocolate chips M&M’s and such because let’s face it, a lot of the time recipes don’t usually call for whole bags.
So these easy cake mix cookies are the perfect way to clean out our pantry and you can start from scratch in building it back up again.
These recipe also make a lot of cookies, with each recipe making about 18-24 depending on how you portion your cookie sizes. So if you are a cookie lover then these are all for you.
They also make a fun holiday tin or gift option to package up and give to family, friends and neighbors or to take to a bake sale if you have one coming up. Trust me, no one will know that these cookie were made from a boxed cake mix.
