Want the perfect morning treat? These Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins are quick, easy, full of flavor and the whole family will go wild for this amazing breakfast recipe.
Muffins are one of those recipes that are always a good go-to breakfast treat. They feed a crowd, come in a variety of flavor options and pretty much everyone loves them. You don’t often come across someone who doesn’t like one muffin recipe or another.
This Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin recipe is a staple in our household and get made more often than not over any other flavor out there! They are easy, full of banana flavor and my kids go nuts for the addition of the chocolate chips, I mean it’s chocolate how can you not?
You can easily replace the chocolate chips with some chopped nuts if you’d like. We often replace them with some chopped up walnuts, because banana and walnut go amazing together. But sometimes my kids just aren’t the biggest nut fans.
HOW DO YOU MAKE MUFFINS?
So muffins are a really simple recipe and use ingredients that are typically on hand. Usually starting out with a base of flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and a liquid of some sort such as water or milk. You can also add in butter or oil for the liquid and some flavoring such as vanilla.
There are a bunch of different recipes out there as to flavors such as these Glazed Orange Muffins or these Strawberry Lime Muffins that are huge hits as well. But these Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins are flavored with banana and vanilla and a sprinkle of chocolate mixed in.
You bake these at 375 for about 20-25 minutes just until the tops are set and slightly golden. You don’t want to over bake muffins or they will become dry and crumby. And no one likes a crumby muffin! I like mine moist and flavorful!
WHAT SHOULD YOU AVIOD WHEN MAKING MUFFINS?
One tip that I always try to never stress enough is that you do not want to over mix your muffin batter. That is key. Muffin batter is supposed to be a little lumpy, so don’t be scared if it looks that way, it is totally normal. Just like over baking, over mixing your muffin recipe will yield dry muffins.
When it comes to our morning routine we always go for these easy Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins. They are super moist too! These muffins will stay good at room temperature for 1-2 days, after that I recommend refrigerating for up to a week for optimum freshness.
If you are planning to store longer than 1 week, you can wrap these muffins individually in plastic wrap and freeze them. They should keep for up to 2 months that way!
So if you’re looking for a kid-friendly recipe that saves on time and feeds a crowd in the morning these Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins are exactly what you need!
