Juicy, tender, fall apart Country Style Ribs are baked low in slow in the oven and basted with a delicious BBQ sauce. These ribs are so easy and flavorful that people will be begging for more.
Do you want an amazing option for your summer parties? These Baked Country Style Ribs are all that you need. Easy, flavorful and no fail.
Baking our ribs is one of our favorite ways to prepare them. With the weather and having to plan, grilling isn’t always an option so we have always opted to bake our ribs instead of grill them.
You can see from our Fall of The Bone Ribs (which is one of our most popular recipes ever) that baking ribs leads to amazing results.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- The recipe itself is simple, made from 4 main ingredients, ribs, rub, bbq sauce and honey. Those ingredients together make one tasty end result.
- These ribs are baked low and slow which results in tender and juicy fall apart goodness.
- The addition of honey to our BBQ sauce really adds a nice touch of sweetness to the what would normally be a spicy more bold recipe.
While you can get bone-in country style ribs, we opt for the boneless. It makes it less effort to get the meat off (although it would fall off anyways) and we just prefer it that way overall.
The rub for these ribs is my signature rub that I use on any of my rib recipes, its a great mixture of sweet and savory spices that really play well off of one another.
HOW TO MAKE COUNTRY STYLE RIBS, STEP BY STEP:
Preheat oven to 250 F. In bowl whisk together your rub ingredients, set aside. Place your ribs in bowl and then sprinkle with your rub (Photos 1 & 2).
Toss the ribs in the rub seasoning to coat, you really want to try to get all sides to rub those spices in when you are mixing it around. Then layer in single layer on a tinfoil lined baking sheet (Photos 3 &4).
Cover ribs with more tinfoil and place ribs in oven and cook for 2 hours then remove from oven. Mix together your BBQ sauce and honey and baste your rubs liberally with it then place back in oven and bake uncovered for 30 minutes to 1 hour until tender.
At this point you can remove from oven and baste with some more BBQ sauce and sprinkle with parsley if desired.
These Country Style Ribs fly off the plate whenever we make them! They are a sure winner!
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Check your ribs after putting on your sauce after 30 minutes to see if they are fall apart, you can remove them at that time.
- You can use store bought rub if you would like, we like to make our own special blend but store bought works just as well.
- Line your pan with tin-foil, not only does it keep things from sticking to the pan, it makes for easy clean up.
- Covering the ribs with tin-foil helps them not dry out when they are cooking.
This is an easy and flavorful rib recipe that the whole family will love. Super tender and tasty, it is one to put on your BBQ menu this summer!

I tried this tonight for dinner and my family LOVED them , the only thing I did different was ask my Hubby to make up the dry rub and rub on the ribs and let them sit covered in tin foil over night in the Ice box (he he) I’m southern at heart so I know tinfoil 😂 Thank you for sharing the delish recipe😊❤️

I’m using bone-in ribs and will be replacing the BBQ sauce with pineapple juice, honey and some of the my store bought rub. I’ll let you know how they turn out but it’s pork and sauce. What could be bad?
Ralph Fraumeni
So I tried this recipe and used the times and temps as written. They were good right out of the oven but got drier as they cooled. I may have overcooked them. Also after cooking them covered for 2 hours there was a lot of liquid. I removed it, added the pineapple juice and honey to it and reduced it to thicken. Cooked the ribs one hour more uncovered and glazed with the reduced sauce for the last 30 minutes. I think this cut of pork might be better suited to hot and fast cooking.

The second time in the oven was 30 min to one hour instead of 1 hour and then your additional 30 min. Maybe they were dry b. You cooked them 30 m in n too long.
Ralph Fraumeni
As usual it’s all in the details. Next time I’ll pick a max temperature and broil on a glaze. Thanks for pointing this out!
marlene
have you ever cooked them on convect?
Tornadough Alli
I have not.

I’m making this tonight I only have smoked paprika and smoked brown sugar. Will that work ?
Tornadough Alli
That should be fine.

I made these tonight with everything except brown sugar and dry mustard for the rub. I used four pounds of country style rib meat but didn’t double up on the spices ( I didn’t have enough on hand) and instead of adding honey to the BBQ sauce, I used Honey BBQ sauce.
I left it uncovered throughout the entire baking process (and baked it at 275°) because I didn’t have foil BUT it was still tender and so amazingly delicious!
I will definitely be using this recipe again. Thank you for sharing it. 💛

These are soooo good!! This has become a new family favorite! I will admit I use a little less pepper as we have 1 little one that does not like spicy food. They are so juicy and tasty! Hubby wants me to make up some of the rub to keep it on hand for when he cooks. I get asked weekly to make these. My husband and daughter pull the meat off the bones to make a pulled pork left over meal for lunches. This recipe with homemade copycat Texas Roadhouse dinner rolls is a win in this house! Even cornmeal muffins with corn on the cob! Nom, nom! I highly recommend this recipe!! Thank you for sharing!

These are amazing. Thank you so much for sharing.

Can’t find tin-foil. Is aluminum ok. Ribs were great even with aluminum.
Tisa Rae
I’m laughing. Everybody asks me that, too. Tin foil is very old-school.
Ralph Fraumeni
I store my tin foil on top of the ice box!

I don’t have the cumin or dry mustard. Should I make substitutions?
Tornadough Alli
You should be fine leaving them out 🙂
Brandi
I want to make these but don’t have the dry mustard on hand. Can I just leave it out?
Tornadough Alli
That shouldn’t be an issue at all.
Kristie Landry
