Juicy, tender, fall apart Country Style Ribs are baked low in slow in the oven and basted with a delicious BBQ sauce. These ribs are so easy and flavorful that people will be begging for more.
Do you want an amazing option for your summer parties? These Baked Country Style Ribs are all that you need. Easy, flavorful and no fail.
Baking our ribs is one of our favorite ways to prepare them. With the weather and having to plan, grilling isn’t always an option so we have always opted to bake our ribs instead of grill them.
You can see from our Fall of The Bone Ribs (which is one of our most popular recipes ever) that baking ribs leads to amazing results.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- The recipe itself is simple, made from 4 main ingredients, ribs, rub, bbq sauce and honey. Those ingredients together make one tasty end result.
- These ribs are baked low and slow which results in tender and juicy fall apart goodness.
- The addition of honey to our BBQ sauce really adds a nice touch of sweetness to the what would normally be a spicy more bold recipe.
While you can get bone-in country style ribs, we opt for the boneless. It makes it less effort to get the meat off (although it would fall off anyways) and we just prefer it that way overall.
The rub for these ribs is my signature rub that I use on any of my rib recipes, its a great mixture of sweet and savory spices that really play well off of one another.
HOW TO MAKE COUNTRY STYLE RIBS, STEP BY STEP:
Preheat oven to 250 F. In bowl whisk together your rub ingredients, set aside. Place your ribs in bowl and then sprinkle with your rub (Photos 1 & 2).
Toss the ribs in the rub seasoning to coat, you really want to try to get all sides to rub those spices in when you are mixing it around. Then layer in single layer on a tinfoil lined baking sheet (Photos 3 &4).
Cover ribs with more tinfoil and place ribs in oven and cook for 2 hours then remove from oven. Mix together your BBQ sauce and honey and baste your rubs liberally with it then place back in oven and bake uncovered for 30 minutes to 1 hour until tender.
At this point you can remove from oven and baste with some more BBQ sauce and sprinkle with parsley if desired.
These Country Style Ribs fly off the plate whenever we make them! They are a sure winner!
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Check your ribs after putting on your sauce after 30 minutes to see if they are fall apart, you can remove them at that time.
- You can use store bought rub if you would like, we like to make our own special blend but store bought works just as well.
- Line your pan with tin-foil, not only does it keep things from sticking to the pan, it makes for easy clean up.
- Covering the ribs with tin-foil helps them not dry out when they are cooking.
This is an easy and flavorful rib recipe that the whole family will love. Super tender and tasty, it is one to put on your BBQ menu this summer!

I live in Burlington Ontario, Canada and we don’t see this cut of pork. I have seen St. Louis style rib
recipes which I believe is the same as yours. I will ask the butcher the next time I am at the grocery
store and see if he will make this cut of pork for me

I just followed your recipe to a T, OMG so god awful Tender I mean I call myself a great cook. But itโs a hit or miss when I want my pork country short ribs and beef ribs to fall off the bone. This was by far one of the BEST RECIPES I have tried. Once they cooked I transferred them to another pan and based on both sides with BBQ sauce. They are so good.Thank you for Delicious Recipe.Sundayโs Dinner๐

I always look for 5 star rated recipes to try. Not all end up being 5 star. I followed this recipe as instructed (that gives me permission to rate it). My husband has perfected smoking all kinds of meat in his smoker. He gave this rib baked in the oven recipe a 5 star thumbs up for tenderness and flavor. Really like your rub. I did bake it 30-45 minutes longer. I was surprised at all the liquid. Drained a lot off before putting back in the oven the second time. Printed and will make it again. Thanks!

Tender, juicy, delicious ribs. Only used half the rub ingredients, but worked well for me. Used rib sauce in place of BBQ sauce. Last 3 minutes, baste with sauce, put under broiler and you get the perfect char on the ribs. Thank you – this is delicious!!

Iโve made this recipe twice with country ribs. Absolutely delicious. Iโm trying it today with baby back ribs. Will let you know if they turn out as good as the country ribs.

I made these tonight for dinner. I told my husband & 20 year old son to start without me because I was making my husband’s lunch for tomorrow first then I cleaned up the kitchen. I went to sit down in our dining room to eat….ALL the ribs were gone! Apparently they were too good. They thought I already made a.plate! These are keepers even though I didn’t get one!

Iโm trying this recipe and would like to know if after 2 hours with the foil covering, do you leave the foil covering off after you put the bbq sauce on?
Tornadough Alli
No I do not, I take the foil off.
HADouglas
Leave foil on. I made these last night! Next time Iโll bake on 275 or 300. Delicious AND beautiful! ๐

I made these ribs and they were delicious. I made my rub using most of your ingredients and added ancho and chipotle chili powder and put them in the refrigerator for several hours. After reading several posts, I also used a glass casserole dish which worked perfectly. And finally, I added ancho and chipotle chili powder in with the honey. It was phenomenal. I did the two hours and applied the bbq sauce and another 30 minutes.
I did want to ask if you cover with foil after you’ve added the bbq sauce or leave the pan uncovered.
Kind regards.

Very easy and tasty. Just a warning – the baking pan will have lots of broth. I didn’t expect that and manage to pour it on the oven door and down into the drawer undeneath. What a mess.
