SHOULD I COOK MY WINGS ON HIGH OR LOW?
In my many years of experience in slow cooking, I would NOT recommend that you cook your chicken wings on anything other than a low setting.
Cooking on high will give you dried out, over cooked and tough meat. That is not what we are wanting here. We ant a nice chicken wing that is sturdy but falls off the bone.
Cooking on a low setting for the 3 hours that we have in this recipe will give you exactly that! And trust me, that is what you want.
WHAT DO I SERVE WITH CHICKEN WINGS?
If you want to make this an actual meal then you can serve it with a variety of things such as macaroni and cheese, a side salad, macaroni salad, corn on the cob etc.
If you are making this as an appetizer like we usually do we like to serve it with some ranch or blue cheese and carrot sticks and celery.
These Sweet & Spicy Slow Cooker Chicken Wings are really saucy, and I love my wings super saucy! But that is just a personal preference.
With this recipe you really get a hint of all the flavors in each bite which I absolutely love so it really works well with the palate. YUM!
CAN I COOK FROZEN CHICKEN WINGS IN THE CROCK POT?
Essentially yes, but I don’t recommend doing so as it will take longer and it will produce more liquid in your slow cooker. If you do go this route you will want to add another 1-2 hours of cooking time.
HOW TO STORE:
Chicken needs to be stored in the refrigerator, you can not leave it out at room temperature for a longer period of time as bacteria likes to grow.
If you have leftovers of these, place the in a airtight container such as a ziptop bag or Tupperware container and they should keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
These Sweet & Spicy Slow Cooker Chicken Wings really are tasty and fun to make! I love the slow cooker aspect the most out of this recipe.
I think you will too if you have never made chicken wings in the slow cooker before, it’s just easy to whip up and then it be done after a few hours.
