This recipe is from my friend Rebecca who gave it to me a while ago when she was teaching culinary classes and her students laughed learning the ingredients until they tasted it.

HOW TO MAKE SLOW COOKER BEEF SHORT RIBS, STEP BY STEP:
- Season ribs with salt and pepper, then place at the bottom of the crockpot. Cover ribs with onion and garlic.
- In a small bowl, combine grape juice, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Stir to combine sauces before pouring over ribs.
- Cook in slow cooker on high for about 4 hours, until beef is tender.
- Using a strainer, drain the juices from the meat, reserve.
- With meat in a bowl add a little bit of the strained juice, use two forks to shred the meat.
- Serve over pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or in a bun.
Our favorite way of serving this is over mashed potatoes, they really soak up the juice mixture from the Short Ribs themselves and it gives everything so much flavor.
But we have also had it so many different ways as we absolutely cannot get enough of these Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs!
You can just see how juice that meat is when you shred it! There is no denying that this one recipe that does not turn out dry! I hate when you have meat that turns out try.
WHAT KIND OF RIBS SHOULD I USE?
Our preference for making short ribs is to use boneless. You can use bone-in as well but then you will have to make sure to remove the meat from the bones.
We have also used pork ribs for this recipe and it has also turned out wonderful and the flavors worked very well together regardless the type you choose to use.
CAN I MAKE THIS ON THE STOVETOP?
You absolutely can, if you prefer to not make this in your slow cooker you can follow the directions and place in a stock pot or dutch oven on your stove.
Bring your sauce to a boil then reduce heat to low and cover and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours until meat is tender. Then remove and shred.
HOW TO STORE:
Properly stored in an airtight container or a ziptop bag, these should last 4 days in the refrigerator. To reheat just microwave until heated through.
You can also freeze this recipe by placing cooled ribs in freezer bags for up to 5-6 months. Thaw in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave until heated through.
