Homemade, chewy, delicious and easy these Red Velvet Blondies are a must make dessert recipe that is a family favorite that everyone loves.
I’m a brownie lover over here, they are my second favorite dessert besides cake You all know how much I love myself some cake but let me tell you my love for brownies.
I have always been addicted to brownies since I was a kid and my mom would whip them up all the time. She usually used the box mix but always added something extra.
Whether it be some powdered sugar, frosting or some mix-ins we ate those batches up like no other. But as I got older I decided that I had to start making my own.
And I love branching out from your regular typical brownie recipe so we have these Red Velvet Brownies. They are so good, studded with white chocolate chips and cream cheese frosting.
They are easy to make, and easier to eat. They are completely homemade which we love and they absolutely produce the best texture ever. They are just one of my favorite brownies ever.
My kids love them because they are untraditional, they have frosting and they have white chocolate chips. Oh and the color lets not forget about that color too!
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- Easy to find pantry ingredients help this recipe come together quickly.
- You can double or halve this batch depending on the number of people you are serving.
- You can use any frosting or mix-ins that you want.
We love this recipe so so much, but like I said we are partial to brownies in this house. I think everyone is, they aren’t your traditional ones so that is why everyone likes them.
Some of my other favorite brownie type recipes we have on our site include Cheesecake Swirled Brownie Cake, Nutella Brownies and Brownie Cookies.
HOW TO MAKE RED VELVET BROWNIES, STEP BY STEP:
- In a large bowl, mix the oil, brown sugar, with eggs.
- Add in the vanilla, milk, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and a few drops of red food coloring. Depending on the brand or type of food coloring you use, you may need to add about a teaspoon of the food color. If you are using gel, just about 5 drops should be enough.
- Mix all of the ingredients together and then add in the flour.
- Continue mixing, scaping the edge of the bowl to get all ingredients to incorporate into the batter.
- Once it is thick, stir in the white chips.
- Evenly pour batter into a lightly sprayed 13×9 cake pan. Place in the center rack of the oven and bake for about 28-30 minutes.
See how easy this Red Velvet Brownies are to whip up? They are effortless, you can use a hand mixer, stand mixer or even just a whisk and spatular for these.
It all depends on what you have on hand at home and how you are used to baking, there is no right or wrong way to mix these up so just make them like you usually bake.
It won’t make a difference in texture or flavor using any of the different methods on making these, so don’t fret!
WHAT MAKES A BROWNIE MORE FUDGY?
It is the fat to flour ratio that makes a brownie more fudge like. If you want more fudge you add more chocolate and butter/oil instead of more flour where it would be more cake like.
These Red Velvet Brownies don’t contain chocolate like a normal brownie would, just cocoa powder and white chocolate chips so it’s all in the ingredient ratios for this recipe.
The cooking time also is a role player when it comes to consistency, if you want a chewier brownie then you can bake for less time where it almost looks like the center is a little under done.
They will continue to cook for a while when removed from the oven, but this is a way to make the brownies more fudgy and chewy as well.
HOW TO STORE RED VELVET BROWNIES:
Brownies are best eaten within 1-2 days if stored at room temperature when cut and covered in an airtight container such as a pan with lid, Tupperware container or ziptop container.
They will last in the refrigerator for up to 4 days stored this way as well.
These Red Velvet Brownies can also be frozen. To freeze you can freeze with or without the frosting, we like to individually wrap our cut brownies and then place them in a freezer bag, they should last frozen for about 3-4 months.
To reheat just leave on counter to thaw out at room temperature if they are frozen with frosting, if they are frozen without frosting you can pop in the microwave for a bit to defrost.
We sometimes make a double batch of these brownies and place the second batch in the freezer so we always have some on hand, and it always helps when they are individually wrapped.
It makes it easier to just grab one at a time and eat it that way opposed to freezing in a pan itself or uncut. I like convenience and it is really convenient that way.
If you want the best untraditional brownie (I know almost all brownie posts say that) then you have to make these Red Velvet Brownies!
Our kids love these, and we are asked to make them all the time for gatherings so I figured it was finally time to share them with you guys! I waited too long already.
Iโm almost kicking myself for waiting so long to share! But now you guyโs have the recipe to my favorite Red Velvet Brownies! Which I hope you like as much as we all do.
