Chewy, tasty and absolutely addicting, these Nutella Brownies are one of our favorite desserts. Minimal ingredients make them a fantastic dessert!
So chocolate is one of my favorite things ever. But when you add chocolate and Nutella together, you literally have heaven. I am not even lying about that.
I love anything that has a hazelnut flavor to it and these Nutella Brownies just have the right amount, and I also love brownies so it’s a win win situation for me.
They are also frosted, I love my brownies frosted a lot of the time, it was something I grew up with so we decided that we needed to up the anti with these and add a little extra.
Some of my favorite brownie recipes that we have on our site include Ultimate Peanut Butter Brownies, S’mores Fudge Brownies and Oreo Truffle Brownies.
I am one of those people that if I see brownies sold anywhere, you know that I am going to go buy myself one of them. It’s just my nature, same with cake. Or pretty much any desserts, no shame here.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- With easy pantry staples, these brownies whip up quick and easy.
- You can easily double this batch to serve more people.
- You can make them into brownie bites or full on brownies.
This is really a simple recipe and it is all made in one bowl which is nice, besides the frosting, which is completely optional, but highly recommended.
I always recommend frosting because I’m one of those people that take the corner slices of the cake and scrape up all the frosting because I’m slightly addicted.
HOW TO MAKE NUTELLA BROWNIES, STEP BY STEP:

- Spread batter evenly around pan and and bake for 32-34 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Place on a wire rack to cool completely in the pan.
- Once cooled frost and serve.
See how easy this is? Literally this Nutella Brownie Recipe is a keeper. It has been one that we have been making for years. We just absolutely love it.
My kids love it too, and they are really snobby about brownies for some reason, I think it’s me that is the huge brownie lover in the house but when it comes to these there is no holding back.
CAN I ADD IN MIX-INS?
Yes, absolutely! Sometimes we like to add some nuts or candy pieces in these Nutella Brownies. Chocolate Chips are also a good idea and we do that as well.
You can doctor up these brownies any way that you like, this is just a nice base recipe that you can cater to your liking. Like I said I highly recommend the frosting, but it’s optional.
HOW TO STORE:
Since these brownies aren’t made with anything that will go bad you can keep these at room temperature sealed in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
These can also be frozen, I recommend if you are not eating them right away to freeze unfrosted and frost when you decide to serve them.
You can place the fully cooled brownies in an airtight container or freezer bag and place in the freezer and they should keep for about 2-3 months.
When you are ready to serve, let thaw overnight then frost and serve like normal! Easy peasy!
WHY IS THERE NO CHOCOLATE IN THIS RECIPE?
We don’t add any additional chocolate or cocoa powder because Nutella is a chocolate and hazelnut spread so you get thee best of both worlds when it comes to that.
So for us there was no need to add any additional chocolate, we wanted that Nutella flavor to shine through, and it does!
This Nutella Brownie Recipe is absolutely perfect. You get your moist and chewy middle but the crispy edges, are you a center or edge person?
I am definitely a center person, always have been. I know that there is a lot of people who have their own opinions on which they like best thats for sure!
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- This recipe can easily be doubled to fit a 9″x13″ pan, they just might not be as thick.
- These can be frozen, see my storage tips above.
- We highly recommend frosting these to add a little more flavor, but it is optional the Nutella Brownies are fine without them.
- Make sure that the brownies are completely cool before you frost them or the buttercream will melt off.
- You can top the frosting with whatever you like, we like to shave some chocolate and use that as a garnish but sprinkles or mini chocolate chips are fun too.
- Add some extra add-ins to this recipe if you like such as nuts or mini chocolate chips, etc.
If you are looking for the perfect dessert that will satisfy the whole family then you need to whip up these Nutella Brownies ASAP, you won’t regret it!
