If you are looking for a quick and easy recipe that takes minimal ingredients and everyone loves, these M&M Blondies are the perfect fast-fix dessert you’re looking for.
Blondies are one of my favorite things. They aren’t quite traditional bars, or brownies but a combination of the two. When I choose to make desserts Blondies are one of my favorites.
These M&M Blondies we have been making for years, not only because they are simple, my kids absolutely love them. Which really means a lot in my book when it comes to baking.
I prefer to make quick and easy desserts when I can, and this recipe is exactly it. Blondies can be super super simple to whip up and you can make as many as you’d like.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- Minimal pantry staple ingredients help this recipe come together easily.
You can double this recipe and make in a larger sheet pan. - You can substitute the M&M’s with anything you’d like such as chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, etc.
If I had to be completely honest, Peanut Butter M&M’s are my favorite. Unfortunately they are too large to use in this recipe, so we just use regular M&M’s instead.
Now this doesn’t have peanut butter in the recipe but it would be so good if it did! I mean peanut butter and baking makes everything absolutely delicious.
These M&M Blondies are moist and soft and chewy all in one. It has crispy edges which a lot of people like. I know there are people out there that love the edge pieces.
I am not one of those pieces, I love center pieces, I love all the chewy goodness that comes from those center pieces, who’s with me there?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BROWNIES AND BLONDIES?
The main difference between the two is one has chocolate and one does not. Blondies are often referred to as Blonde Brownies.
They essentially have the same ingredients in them, depending on how you make your brownies, which usually use all white sugar, blondies have a mixture of brown and white sugars.
DIFFERENT VARIATIONS OF THIS RECIPE:
Like stated above there are different things besides the M&M’s we use to mix into this Blondie Recipe some include:
- Chocolate Chips
- White Chocolate Chips
- Butterscotch Chips
- Dried fruit such as cranberries or cherries
- Peanut Butter Chips
- Various nuts
The mix-ins are really limitless since the batter itself is an easy and basic blondie base, so it can be catered to your liking.
HOW TO STORE BLONDIES:
These M&M Blondies are safe to store at room temperature for about 3 days in an airtight container such a ziptop bag or Tupperware container.
They will also stay good for about 1 week or a little longer if stored the same way in the refrigerators.
Yes you can freeze these. Bake according to directions and let cool completely, cut into bars and we like to layer ours on top of one another in container with parchment paper, these should freeze for up to 3 months.
Just you can remove as many as you like and defrost at room temperature or slightly heat up in microwave before serving.
How can you not love those gooey M&M’s in the center of these Blondies! They really do melt in your mouth. Super chewy and delectable.
One of my secrets to make my Blondies look a little prettier is to sprinkle some more M&M’s on the top of the spread batter in pan before baking.
That way you can see all the colors and they don’t get all the way baked into the Blondies themselves, we also do this with our cookies, but press them in after the come out of the oven.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- You can use various mix-ins, check above for some ideas!
- You can easily double or triple this batter recipe to feed more people.
- You can adjust your sugar likings to your flavor preference but we prefer more brown sugar over white.
- Remove from oven when center is just set, these will continue to cook slightly after removing from oven.
- You can freeze these bars, check my notes above on how you can do that.

It’s great. Wished I knew what size pan to use. I used 8×8- don’t use 8×8, it’ll turn into an m&m cake. Use 9×13.
