CAN I USE JUST ONE COLOR GRAPE?
Yes, if you just want to use one color grape you can, both work perfectly well with this salad so you can choose to use either red or green.
We like to use them both because of the color contrast that it gives this salad recipe but there absolutely is no serious necessity to use both colors.
CAN I USE OTHER NUTS?
While pecans are the traditional topping for this recipe you can absolutely use any of your favorite nuts. We hav used walnuts in the past when we have ran out of pecans.
Alternatively you can leave out the nuts all together if you are not a fan or have a nut allergy. They just give it a nice crunchy contrast and flavor to this Grape Salad.
HOW TO STORE:
This Grape Salad Recipe can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. After that the grapes start going soggy and you don’t want soggy grapes.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- This recipe can be made overnight or up to 2 days in advance as long as it is stored airtight in the refrigerator.
- You can use just one color grape if you like.
- If you are not a fan of pecans, other nuts like walnuts will work or you can omit them all together.
- We like to top each serving with additional brown sugar and chopped pecans so you get some in each serving.
- Switch it up by adding toffee bits to the top for a delicious crunch and more caramel like flavor.
- Easily double this salad if you are having a larger gathering or serving more people.
