How much easier can you get than these Creamy Garlic Mushrooms? I mean seriously, they are one of our easiest side dishes that don’t come from a can.
And they taste absolutely amazing. I love the creaminess of these mushrooms, of course I really just like sautรฉed mushrooms as well but adding the cream and cheese really puts it over the top.
WHAT KIND OF MUSHROOMS SHOULD I USE?
For this recipe we used cremini mushrooms. But you could also use white button mushrooms or portobello as well, you can even use sliced mushrooms.
We like to use the whole mushroom as we like the size of the bites, but whatever works best for you will work well in this dish.
Just make sure if you do decide to use sliced mushrooms that you will cook a little less time.
Trust me when I say that you will fall in love with this Creamy Garlic Mushroom and Bacon recipe as soon as you try it! We have converted a lot of non mushroom lovers to mushroom lovers with this recipe.
HOW TO STORE:
Since this recipe contains cream it needs to be refrigerated. You can store in a ziptop bag or Tupperware container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
If you go longer than that you run the risk of this recipe going soggy and you don’t want that!
I do not recommend freezing this recipe, as I feel that anything that really has a cream based sauce does not freeze well or defrost well either.
These Creamy Garlic Mushrooms are one of those recipes that we are asked a lot to make or bring to holiday gatherings, they make a really good and different side dish from the norm.
Obviously we never turn it down! Like I said, mushroom lover here! We just cannot resist anything with mushrooms especially when it comes to this recipe!

- You can make it vegetarian by swapping out the bacon with walnuts or pecans.
