If you are a fan of take out, look no further I have you covered with this deliciously easy Copy Crunchwrap Supreme! Full of flavor and cheaper than restaurant!
I love when I can make my own take-out food at home, trust me we do it often. Recreating restaurant recipes is what I love to do and sometimes they are better than the originals.
Now I’m a huge Taco Bell person and this is one recipe that I absolutely adore from them, but we don’t always have the time to travel there or want to spend the money on it.
So we whip up larger batches of them at home so the whole family can enjoy them, and they can customize them to their own liking. These really are easy and so delicious.
Don’t get me wrong we like to splurge sometimes and go to the actual restaurants and be human beings but who doesn’t like to save money where they can, especially when it’s on food!
This Copycat Crunchwrap Supreme is literally just like the original or even better in my opinion so we make these a lot, especially for taco Tuesday dinner!
Everyone always asks for them, so we try to keep a stocked fridge whenever that craving calls because we make these at least once a month if not more.

HOW TO MAKE A COPYCAT CRUNCHWRAP SUPREME, STEP BY STEP:
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ground beef directly to the skillet, break it up and brown it until there is no pink left. Drain off any excess grease or liquid.
- Add the taco seasoning and mix it into the meat, cook for about 15 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the salsa, water, and cilantro to the skillet, stir to combine. Let simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated but the mixture is not dry, set aside.
- We are going to make the crunchwraps and cook them one at a time. On a clean work surface, place one of the burrito sized tortillas. In the center add 1/4th of the beef mixture.
- Dollop 1/4th of the nacho cheese sauce on top.
- Place a tostada shell on top of the nacho cheese sauce. Smear 1/4th of the sour cream on top of the tostada. Place 1/4th of the diced tomatoes and 1/4th of the shredded lettuce on the sour cream. Next Place one of the 6-inch flour tortillas on top.
- Place another large skillet over medium heat. While the skillet heats, take the bottom larger tortilla, wrap it around while folding the tortilla up the sides to form a package. Coat the skillet with ยผ of the butter and place the folded tortilla, fold side down into the skillet. Be very careful when placing the tortilla to keep the folds folded. Place something heavy on top of the tortilla, I used my spoon rest.
- Let the tortilla toast for about 2-3 minutes until browned to your liking. Flip it over, place the heavy object back on top and toast an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
It may look harder to do but it is really easy, is cooking beef, adding your seasonings then layering your toppings and folding! Don’t be scared this is really an easy recipe.
Plus the end result is absolutely worth it, you will want to make this Crunchwrap Supreme all the time! I know we do, they are just too good not to make!
Plus they are a nice hearty serving so you only really need one to get you full so if you have a family of 4 then this recipe is perfect, but if you have a larger family you can easily doublet this recipe.
WHAT IS A CRUNCHWRAP SUPREME?
According to Taco Bell their description of a Crunchwrap Supreme is a flour tortilla layered with seasoned beef, warm nacho cheese sauce, a crispy tostada shell, crispy lettuce, ripe tomatoes and topped with cool sour cream that is all all wrapped up and fold and grilled to go.
So we literally take everything that they describe and we make them like they do in the restaurant. Or as close as possible, but I would like to say that these are pretty dang close to the original.
You will have to be the judge when you whip them up, because you know you want to and I know you want to because just look at them, they are absolutely tempting!
HOW TO STORE:
I think these are best when they are fresh you can store them for later use. We like to wrap them individually in foil and place them in the refrigerator.
They should keep in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days, to reheat preheat oven to 400 and place Crunchwraps in foil on baking sheet and bake for 5-10 minutes until heated through.
TIPS AND TRICKS ON MAKING A CRUNCHWRAP SUPREME:
- You can use any kind of tortilla you want, we like the flour but you could also use wheat.
- Use the leanest ground beef you can get, this produces less grease.
- Buy pre shredded lettuce or shred your own, we like to use chopped romaine for these.
- You can find nacho cheese sauce at your local grocery store in cans.
- If you want to add other toppings in the center of this feel free to do so, olives, jalapeรฑos, avocados are all good choices.
