A quick and easy cocktail, these Christmas Mimosas are a fun drink that you can sip on at holiday parties, around the fire or at dinner time or brunch!
I love making simple and easy drinks over the holidays! Thesee Christmas Mimosas are one of them, with minimal ingredients they take no time to whip up at all.
The flavor combination of everything together is absolutely delicious as well. Cranberry Apple Juice paired with Prosecco? Yum!
This is such an easy drink and super tasty as well. It is one of my signature drinks that I like to sip on around the holidays, I’m a huge cranberry juice fan.
But I wanted to give this a little more depth of flavor and added an apple aspect to it as well, add some rosemary, cranberries a cinnamon stick and you’ve a beautiful drink.
The cinnamon slightly infuses with the drink and just gives the slightest bit of cinnamon taste that is absolutely amazing, this is completely optional but highly recommended.
I’m going to say that this is one of my favorite drinks, not only because it is simple, but it tastes so fresh and has a little tart and sweetness to it!
Those are all things I enjoy when it comes to something I’m going to be sipping on. Some of the best drinks don’t have a whole bunch of ingredients and these Christmas Mimosas are that.
Some of my other favorite drink recipes we have on our site include: Coquito, Rum Sour and an Old Fashioned.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- With minimal ingredients it comes together quickly.
- This can easily be made non-alcoholic.
- Double or triple the recipe for gatherings or serving more people.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST):
Prosecco
Cranberry apple juice
Cranberries
Rosemary sprigs
Cinnamon sticks
HOW TO MAKE A CHRISTMAS MIMOSA, STEP BY STEP:
- Fill your glass halfway with Prosecco.
- Fill the glass the rest of the way with the cranberry apple juice, leaving just enough room for garnishes.
- Then add fresh cranberries, a rosemary sprig, and cinnamon sticks to the glass and serve.
WHAT KIND OF PROSECCO IS THE BEST?
We do not have a brand preference on this one. There are three different types of Proseccos – sparkling, semi-sparkling and still.
We prefer the sparkling because it gives the most fizz and bubbly taste. Also there are different colors like rose, you do not want to use that just use a plain regular prosecco.
Some Prosecco brands that you can use include:
- La Marca
- Cupcake
- Josh Cellar’s
- Zonin
- Ruffino
CAN I MAKE THIS NON-ALCOHOLIC?
Absolutely! We do this a lot actually, we like to make this into a mocktail for people who don’t drink and if any kids want a sparkling juice version.
To make it non-alcoholic just swap out the prosecco with sparkling apple juice. You’ll still get that bubbly fizz and you can have a delicious flavor.
You can switch to just plain cranberry juice since the sparkling juice is apple if you want a more subtle apple flavor.
HOW MANY MIMOSAS CAN I MAKE WITH ONE BOTTLE OF PROSECCO?
If you want to use it all (who doesn’t) you can typically get about 6-8 mimosas with this recipe as it is a 50/50 split.
So this can help you plan on how many bottles you would want to get if you are planning on serving this for a party or gathering.
CAN I USE OTHER GARNISHES?
Absolutely! If you want to switch up the garnishes, go right ahead. You can use diced apples, sliced oranges, orange zest, sugared cranberries, etc.
Also, you can use no garnishes at all as well. You can garnish this drink any way that you think it would look presentable.
HOW TO STORE:
I do not recommend storing, this is a make as you go type of drink. So keep everything in the refrigerator until ready to make a cocktail.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- The ratio of the drink should be 50/50.
- A bottle of prosecco makes about 6-8 drinks depending on the glass.
- You can use regular cranberry juice if you do not want the apple flavor.
- This can be made non-alcoholic, see my tips above.
- Garnish as you wish, the cinnamon stick give a slight cinnamon flavor to the drink see some other ideas above.
- We do not recommend making ahead of time.
- Use your favorite Prosecco, make sure that it is sparkling.
