DO I HAVE TO USE FRESH LEMON JUICE?
Yes, I do not recommend using bottled lemon juice for this recipe. It will taste off and quite fake.
Also we use lemon zest for this recipe, so you will have the lemons anyways so, in short yes you should use fresh lemon juice.
HOW DO I THICKEN UP THE SAUCE?
We do use a slurry in the sauce already which consists of cornstarch and water. If it is not thick enough, then repeat the same amount until you get it to your desired thicknesss.

So many things can be served with this, different sides and mains or even appetizers. Some of my favorites include:
- Rice
- Hibachi Noodles

- Beef Fried Rice
HOW HOT SHOULD I HAVE MY STOVE TO HEAT MY OIL?
You will want to set it between medium and high heat for this recipe. Which will be between 350 degrees and 375 degrees F.
You can attache a kitchen thermometer to your pan to make sure that the temperature is consistent and doesn’t get too hot where the chicken will burn.
HOW TO STORE:
This can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator where it will keep for up to 3-4 days.
I do not recommend freezing this recipe as the breading will get soggy.
To reheat, you can place it back in a pan until heated through or in the microwave.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Easily double this recipe.
- You can serve so many different things with this recipe, see above for ideas.
- Using a kitchen thermometer helps keep the temperature even so the chicken doesn’t burn.
- Make sure you are using fresh lemon juice for this recipe.
- Top with sesame seeds or green onions if you wish.
