WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- This makes a nice large batch, but you can absolutely double it.
- Easy or on hand ingredients help this come together in no time.
- The flavors work so well together with sweetness, meat, bacon etc.

Ground beef
Bacon
Pork and beans

Brown sugar

Onion powder

HOW TO MAKE BAKED BEANS WITH GROUND BEEF, STEP BY STEP:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large cast iron skillet add the ground beef and bacon.
- Over medium heat, cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until the juices run clear. Then drain any excess fat.
- Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet.
- Stir until everything is combined.
- Place in the oven and bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
HOW SHOULD I COOK THE BEANS?
You can cook as said on the label of the can. We usually make them on the stovetop.
If you have more time, you can warm up your beans in the slow cooker on high for 1 hour as well.
CAN I USE ANOTHER MEAT?
Absolutely, ground beef and beans just go so well together so it is always our go-to meat for this recipe.
If you want to use another meat you can use ground chicken, ground pork, ground turkey or even italian sauasge.
CAN I BAKE THIS IN A 9X13-INCH PAN?
If you do not own a cast iron skillet, you can absolutely place these Baked Beans with Ground Beef in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
This will make no difference in the outcome of the recipe. We just like using the cast iron skillet as we try to use it as much as we can.
WHAT KIND OF BBQ SAUCE SHOULD I USE?
This is a personal preference on the flavor, I use just regular BBQ sauce for this recipe so the other flavors can shine through.
If you want a sweeter version use brown sugar BBQ sauce, or if you want a spicier version you can use a sweet and spicy.
I say play around with flavors until you absolutely find the combination that you love.
HOW TO STORE:
These can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator where they will keep for up to 4-5 days.
I do not recommend freezing this recipe as the texture of beans after freezing is not the best.
To reheat, place in the microwave until heated through or place back in the oven at 350 degrees F until heated through.
