WHAT KIND OF POTATOES SHOULD I USE?
We recommend using Russet Potatoes for this recipe. They are higher starch and have less water in them.
I don’t recommend using any other potato as this is what we have always used for this so I cannot guarantee the outcome of any other potatoes.
SHOULD I PLACE THE POTATOES IN WATER BEFORE AIR FRYER?
Placing the potatoes in water will prevent them from browning and will help remove excess starch, possibly making the fries crispier.
This is an optional step and not necessary when air fryer French fries, as it is a super quick process. However, if you would like to, to help remove some starch, then go right ahead.
DO I HAVE TO FRY THESE IN BATCHES?
For best results, yes! This is because food in an air fryer needs space for the heat to get to it. If they are overcrowded, then they wonโt fry evenly.
This way you can always guarantee that these will turn out crispy when air frying in batches.
CAN I SEASON THESE WITH OTHER SPICES?
Absolutely, use any of your favorite blend that you like. We like to switch it up no and again.
I usually keep some blends on hand like Lawry’s and Red Robin to use on my french fries as well.
HOW TO STORE:
These can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container where they will keep for up to 1-2 days.
We do not recommend freezing this recipe.
To reheat, place in a 400 degree F preheated air fryer and heat for 2-4 minutes.
