Quick, easy and with minimal ingredients this Seasoned Air Fryer Chicken is a tasty dinner recipe that comes together in minutes and the whole family will love.
Chicken is one of my absolute favorite meats to eat. I will choose it over anything else any day. I grew up being a chicken girl and I just can never get enough!
Chicken is life to me, I know that may sound weird but it is the truth. I will pretty much eat anything that has chicken in it! But don’t get me wrong I do love a variety of meats.
This Seasoned Air Fryer Chicken is one of my families favorite recipes. It is quick and easy and you could most likely make it with your eyes closed.
Using minimal ingredients, you just season, pop it in the air fryer, fry and boom dinner. I mean how can you go wrong with that? You really can’t.
The one thing that I love about the air fryer is that it really gets the skin on the chicken crispy in a short amount of time, so we didn’t find the need to bread this one.
Although, we will be having an actual Fried Chicken recipe coming soon! Until then you will have to enjoy all my other chicken recipes!
Some of my favorite chicken recipes that we do have on our site include Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Baked Cheesy Chicken and Chicken Fried Chicken.
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:

- This recipe gives you a flavorful crispy outer chicken and a moist inside.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT BOTTOM):
Chicken legs
Chicken thighs
Olive oil
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Black pepper
White pepper
You can’t deny that this is such an easy recipe with how minimal the ingredients are! And this is the perfect starter recipe if you are just getting used to your air fryer.
Chicken cooks up beautifully in the air fryer, you just have to make sure that it cooks all the way through and the internal temperature is at least 165 degrees F.
So what I really recommend is investing in an instant read kitchen thermometer. That has been a life saver when cooking any kind of meats and helps you to know if things are under cooked or over cooked.
They are relatively cheap and you can find them at Walmart or on Amazon. It is one kitchen appliance or tool that I believe that everyone should have.
CAN I USE OTHER CHICKEN PIECES?
Yes you can, you can use wings or breasts as well, the cooking times will change for the sizes of those, so you will want to look up the cooking times for each.
We like too use the mixture of the legs (my kids favorite) and the thighs as they really cook up nicely and provide just the right amount of meat in each portion.
HOW TO STORE:
This Seasoned Air Fryer Chicken Recipe can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container or a ziptop bag for up to 3-4 days.
To reheat, we like to stick it back in the air fryer for about 4 minutes until heated through, this is our favorite way to reheat anything that has been air fried.
These can also be frozen, store in a freezer bag and they should keep for up to 6 months. To defrost remove from freezer and place in the refrigerator overnight.
To reheat you can place in microwave or again in the air fryer.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- We find the best results using skin on and bone in chicken things for this recipe.
- For the air fryer you do not want to use regular cooking spray, you want to use an olive oil based spray, or brush with olive oil itself before placing the chicken in.
- You many need to cook in batches depending on how large your air fryer is.
- You can easily double this recipe to serve more people.
- Use other pieces of chicken if you like but cooking time will vary.
- Make sure you check the temperature of your chicken with a kitchen thermometer to make sure that it is at least 165 degrees F.
