Ready in under 30 minutes, this Korean Beef Ramen is a quick and easy weeknight main dish or side. Full of flavor but super easy to throw together.

I love recipes that I can really kinda of amp up from something basic like a pack of ramen.
This Korean Beef Ramen is a family favorite, its fast, tasty and serves a good amount but can be doubled to serve more.
With the ground beef, spices, and additional ingredients it really revs up the flavor and takes your basic ramen to a totally different level.
We are busy a lot during the year, so when I am looking for a quick dinnertime meal or side dish, this Korean Beef Ramen is one that I turn to.
If you have a house with kids, then you most likely have all the ingredients on hand, or are able to easily find the ingredients.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST):
Ramen noodles
Lean ground beef
Ginger
Garlic
Low-sodium soy sauce
Light brown sugar
Salt
Pepper
Green onions
HOW TO MAKE KOREAN BEEF RAMEN, STEP BY STEP:
- Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil.
- Add the ramen noodles and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to break them up. Drain and run cold water over them to stop the cooking process. Drain well and set aside.
- In a large skillet, crumble and cook the beef until there is no pink left, 8-10 minutes.
- Drain any excess grease.
- Add the ginger and garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the ramen and toss with the beef and sauce.
- Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly to thicken the sauce and coat the noodles.
- Serve immediately with the green onions for garnish.
WHAT FLAVOR OF RAMEN SHOULD I USE?
You can use any flavor as we will discard the seasoning package or keep it to use in other recipes.
CAN I ADD ANYTHING ADDITIONS TO THIS RECIPE?
Yes absolutely, if you want to add some more substance to the recipe some sautéed vegetables which include:
- Zucchini
- Green beans
- Edamame
- Snow peas
- Snap peas
- Carrots
- Bell peppers
- Onions
There are a lot of different vegetable options to add and to even mix and match to get a heartier dish.
DO I HAVE TO USE GROUND BEEF?
While this is our favorite meat of choice for this specific recipe, you can also use ground chicken or ground turkey instead.
You will still get that punch of flavor from the other ingredients, the meat will just taste different.
WHAT CAN I SERVE WITH THIS IF I USE IT AS A SIDE DISH?
We love using this as a main or a side dish, just depending on how hearty you want your meal. Some ideas that you can serve this along side include:
- Slow Cooker Ginger Chicken
- Honey Walnut Shrimp
- Sweet and Sour Chicken
- Peanut Butter Chicken
- Beef Fried Rice
- Cashew Chicken
There are so many more things that you can serve alongside this, but these are some of my favorite.
HOW TO STORE:
This can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator where it will keep for up to 3 days.
You can also freeze this recipe, place in a freezer bag or container and it will keep for up to 3 months.
To defrost, remove to the refrigerator overnight until thawed. To reheat, place in a skillet with some beef broth or in the microwave until heated through.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Add some sesame seeds or chili flakes as garnish to switch it up.
- If it seems a little dry when reheating leftovers, I like to add a few splashes of beef stock to loosen it up.
- Other vegetables can be added to this recipe to beef it up, see above on some ideas.
- Use any flavor of ramen as you will not be using the seasoning packet.
- Double this recipe to serve more people.
- This can be frozen, see above on how to do that.
- Ground chicken or turkey can be used in place of the ground beef.
