A classic Fall recipe this Easy Apple Crisp is quick to whip up, and easier to put down. With crispy top and tart sweet apples this is one treat you have to make.
Apple Crisp, oh who doesn’t love a good Easy Apple Crisp! I know that it is one of the most requested recipe by my husband, he cannot get enough.
We pretty much are all Apple Crisp addicts around here and we love when Fall comes and our apples are ready for the picking, all the crisps get made.
This Easy Apple Crisp is our go-to recipe and have been making it for years and we do not stray from it because we love it and it really is that good and easy.
We love baking this dessert in a cast iron skillet, it seems more rustic and we love being apple to set it in the middle of the table and everyone is able to grab their own share.
Top with a scoop of ice cream and you are set! Also it is great warm or cooled so we don’t have a real preference on how we eat it because we will take it either way.
Some of our other favorite apple recipes we have on our site include: Apple Pie, Apple Cinnamon Muffins and Braided Apple Puff Pastry.

WHAT APPLES ARE THE BEST TO USE?
Our go-to apple for baking recipes is Granny Smith. It is a nice tart apple that really goes great with the sweetness of the Apple Crisp itself.
Some other apples that you can use include Golden Delicious, Fuji, Jonagold and Pink Lady. Whatever your favorite baking apple is would be great.
DO I NEED TO PEEL MY APPLES?
This is a personal preference. We like to peel our apples, but you can leave them unpeeled as the peel will pretty much just melt and soften.
We have done this many times when making our Easy Apple Crisp and either way peeled or unpeeled it still turns out delicious. So that is up to you, it works either way.
HOW TO STORE:
If you have any leftovers of this Apple Crisp Recipe you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
This Easy Apple Crisp freezes really well both baked and unbaked, we always make a bunch of batches to freeze for later serving that is one reason I love this recipe.
To freeze baked apple crisp, let cool and then wrap in plastic wrap and then a layer of foil, this will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Remove to refrigerator to defrost overnight and then reheat in a 350 degree oven for about 25-30 minutes until heated through.
To freeze unbaked, make your Apple Crisp according to directions then wrap in plastic wrap and then a layer of foil and this should also keep in the freezer for about 3 months.
Again, defrost in the refrigerator overnight and then bake in your oven as directed, this may need a little more time to bake to heat al the way through.
